We were talking in my musical theatre class about how a lot of older musicals are based on books and plays and how well that works. Are there any specific scenes in a play where you always feel a song should go? Or where one could work? If so, what is the scene from the play and what song from a current/older musical would you insert?

In watching A RASIN IN THE SUN last night, there were so many fabulous opportunities where there could be a chance to place a song and make this story into a musical a la PORGY AND BESS/SHOWBOAT/RAGTIME/COLOR PURPLE.
