Unlike other retailers out there, PBS is boasting a release date in March (in place of the pending May 20th release) We shall see if it holds truth. After my order was processed, I received an email confirmation, mentioning the back-order, and how the shipment will become available upon release on March the 17th. Hope this helps!
Amazon's releasing on May 20th, like every other market. PBS has it available 2 months prior because it's 'sold through them' -- List price is $28.99, and thusly, has been taken down to $24.99 elsewhere.
Tivoing the HD telecast. Burning that onto DVD-RW to hold me over (RW is erasable, which is what'll I'll do eventually). Queuing the standard DVD release on Netflix. Burning that when I get it. Waiting for the Blu-ray version to be released (which it is), then buying that version and keeping the burnt copy of the standard DVD version to watch on a non-Blu-ray disc player.
I'm definitely requesting the DVD for my birthday present this year.
