who would you pick?

I don't particularly like jukebox musicals most of the time, but I just thought this could be fun.

I'm kind of thinking The Smiths... maybe, probably wouldn't be done well if it actually happened.

Make it a Stephen Sondheim jukebox musical!

No, seriously, the world's filled with crappy stuff like jukebox musicals. No more of them, please!

Last night I was thinking about Josh Groban, even though most of his songs weren't written by him. I just feel like it could work...

Are you kidding?

Are you absolutely kidding?

Madonna! Definitely Madonna! It would be like Mamma Mia, Xanadu, Chicago, and the "contact" scene from RENt all having an orgy together.

"Britney"

A phenomenal second act.

*Oh wait a jukebox musical? hmm.. well there can be some of her songs - but I'd want mostly original material.

"Zac is sweet as can be. He's very much just a sweet kid from California who happens to have a face that looks like it was drawn by Michelangelo, (if Michelangelo did anime)."
-Adam Shankman.

Aqua. You know, of "Barbie Girl" fame. I'm obsessed and have always found their music very theatrical.

I don't want a jukebox musical, but I wish Ben Folds would compose an original.

I'm pulling for Aerosmith.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention...I'm the good cop, he's the bad cop.

I'm intrigued to see a staged version of PURPLE RAIN, (but 'not') -- I think a jukebox musical with Prince's music would be entertaining. (Nevermind the fact that the ONLY reason why I'm even contemplating is because of th GRAMMYs ... which disappointed BIG-TIME)

Aerosmith would be fun, and would probably work very well. They have SO much to choose from.

I kind of want Ben Folds to compose a musical based on "Steven's Last Night In Town." It'd be brilliant, I tell you.

Maybe Kanye West. I love him, but he's such a drama queen that I'm sure the show would be so over the top. I'm picturing this immense saga of hip-hop drama cobbled together from his songs.

I know there have been a few readings with her music but I'd like someone to do a Laura Nyro jukebox musical. Or just get me a big chorus singing "Time and Love" with some tamborines and I'll be fine.

Steve2- I know, so many of The Smiths songs sound so theatrical.

I've always thought Lollipop (Candyman) sounded very musical..

Fleetwood Mac. Lots of history with the band and stories in their songs.

I also think Moby could produce a spectacular show around his music.

I definitely agree with Madonna, Prince & The Smiths. Also:

U2

Bruce Springsteen (but hopefully not like the Dylan musical!). I always thought that "Jungleland" sounded like a great opening to a Broadway musical.

Talking Heads - that would be the best!
