I am attempting to purchase a ticket to "Next To Normal" for this Sunday. I was told by a friend who has seen it not to sit in the first few rows; it would be too close. For anyone who has seen the show, can you recommend the best place to sit? Also, does anyone know if there is an aisle next to the seats on the right side of the house? I can't quite judge from the photo on their website.

I loved sitting front row for the facial expressions, but I'd already seen it before. I do think further back might be better, at least for a first time. It is a three-leveled set that goes fairly deep.
The smaller section of seats does not have a row to the left. The larger section does have two aisles ~ one on each side.

I have not seen the show but i have been to 2ST stages several times.. Probably go with Row F or G ..and DO NOT SIT on the boxes...I think they are facing the audience..
Thank you jordangirl, that's exactly what I wanted to know. I was just able to pull up L115 and wanted to make sure there was going to be an aisle to my right and not a wall. Just a preference of mine.

There wasn't THAT much neck craning ~ there's more 2nd and 1st level action than 3rd. Unless you're focusing on Aaron dancing around in his boxers. Then yes, it's all about the 3rd level. :P
And I said, for a first time, I'd recommend being further back. Being up close definitely gave me a different feel because I could clearly see the emotions and they were all on fire that night.

Haha, no apology necessary. I loved him in Hairspray and I'm sure I'll love him in this. I'm just avoiding all of the N2N threads now so I don't spoil anything for myself!

I sat last row, and I thought it was perfect. Considering all the action on the upper levels.

I sat in row H, which was close enough to see facial expressions as well as all levels of the set. I am seeing the show again from row D on Sunday though, which should also be fine.

but won't be back until the 19th because of my schedule and then London trip.
Oh, gosh, London? You poor thing! How terrible!
Anyway. I recently saw it from the front row, after having seen it before. Really, how much of the action actually takes place on the third level? It's sporadic, it's not like you'll be craning your next for two and a half hours straight. And you don't really miss all that much due to depth, either, as far as action in the show. You'll have a hard time seeing the musicians, though. That said, though, as much as I enjoyed getting to see the actors' facial expressions up close, I'd recommend sitting at least a handful of rows farther back, just to get the full effect.
