I searched through the threads and didn't find anything, so I thought I'd post a question here.
After seeing Sunday...'s Saturday evening performance, my friend and I were wondering about what exactly the rules of child casting are. Why, for example, could Kelsey Fowler be the only girl playing Lee in Grey Gardens but shares the role of Louise with Alison Horowitz in Sunday...? I know the children in Les Miz all alternate, but I'm pretty sure there were no alternates for any of the children in the Rebecca Luker revival of The Sound of Music.
So...I guess we were wondering what the actual rules were, or if some of it is up to the production team or what?
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.
