I think it is time to stop the tasteless exploitation of celebrity deaths

These people had problems but now they are gone . Let them rest in peace. There is no need to put what happened in the last hours of Heath Ledgers life all over the front page of every newspaper & TV station in america

Give it a rest

Another observation related to Ledger is his portrayal of the joker. How that character has changed over the years. First Caesar Romero in the TV series with his Giddy laugh . Not a mean bone in his body. Than Jack Nicholson who played the character a little more sinister but still a jokester. From what I have seen & read about Ledger's portrayal, it is really off the deep end. The evolution of this character has shown how we have really changed as a society

Stick a fork in Heath Ledger and your Joker comparisons, which are not apt.

I hated it after Anna Nicole died. I couldn't turn on my TV without hearing about it.

Luckily, all we watch now are recorded programs. No news programs for us!

I see the development of the Batman franchise more of it growing up with it's audience, trying to remain relevant.

Let us all contemplate Heath Ledger in reference to the dustball under my bed. Like the dustball, Heath Ledger went through periods of relative anonymity, but occasionally reappeared in very prominent circumstances. They were both sometimes considered dirty, but could very easily have been simply misunderstood.

Another observation is that insisting that life imitates art is often simply a big stinking load of hooey.

Bread & Circuses for the masses.

I am sorry he died but there is no need to be exploiting it to sell papers 2 or 3 weeks from now.Let him rest in peace is what I say.

However, like the TV Joker, Heath was first a teen movie star, fluffy and somewhat inconsequential, then a little more serious like Nicholson's Joker when he appeared in Brokeback Mountain and then dark and dead like the Joker he is going to play in Monster's Ball.

See?

I can't wait until our Santa Claus evolves into a maniacal, serial-killer pedophile... just to stay relevant with today's audiences.

Evil crazy person = relevant
Kind old soul = whatever

I don't know about the pedophile part, but he's already been a maniacal, serial-killer.

I think the casting of Ledger as the Joker has poetic lilt.
First the Joker was played by a gay man. Then by a straight man. Finally by a straight man who will be best known for playing a gay man. The world really IS a circle.
PEACE.
