Is 1776 being remade?#1

There's a placeholder for a film entitled "1776" (2009) over at the Internet Movie Database. I was just doing some research on the film as I was listening to the film soundtrack. Is this being remade? Anybody know? Another question: Did Blythe Danner do her own singing in the film or was she dubbed?

The film is not only being re-made, it's being updated.

They're talking to Jennifer Lopez about playing one of the leads.

And to give it a little spice they are changing it to "Joan Adams" and she get abused by the whole congress, if you know what I mean.
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.

This is one of those "announced" things that will probably never happen.

Could this be a movie adaptation of the David McCullough novel "1776" that came out a few years ago?

As much as I'd love a new version of the musical, I find it hard to believe that's what this is!

I, too, figured this was an adaptation of McCullough's popular novel and not the musical.

Yes, it's the novel being made into a film. And yes, Blythe Danner did her own singing.
