Anyone watching?

"Talky Tina" is on. I hate dolls! This one scares me (although not as much as Billy Mumy on the toy telephone).

I received the complete definitive collection on dvd for Christmas and I've been od'ing on the show. Has anyone seen the 1983 movie? I saw it not too long ago and thought it was scary as heck!

I've been watching it here and there, Phyllis...not sure.

And, yes, the '83 movie scared the crap out of me.

It is a shame they need to run promos while the episode is running & that they have to be chopped up.

I watched a bit last night. I caught Agnes Moorehead in "The Invaders." I always have to stop and marvel at her work in that one.

Phyllis---I own the "definitive" full series as well, and spent about six months, off and on, watching it until I'd seen every single one. I'd seen many of them from my college days, when I first was introduced to the show on late-night reruns. But there were quite a few (more than I expected, especially the hour-long ones) that I'd never seen before.

I said it back in college, and feel the same today... this is my all-time favorite TV series. It took many imaginative risks with story-telling. I think it's the zenith of creativity in the medium.

re: TWILIGHT ZONE MARATHON

I was extremely fortunate to attend a symposium on the series about 10 or 11 years ago at the DGA here in Hollywood. It was fantastic, with several of the writers, actors, directors and producers that had worked on it all gathered together for a discussion and Q&A. (Billy Mumy, Martin Landau, Cliff Robertson, Earl Holliman, Richard Donner, Buck Houghton, Earl Hamner Jr., Richard Matheson, George Clayton Johnson, Mrs. Rod Serling, etc.) There is a small "chunk" of that inspriring night included on the final Bonus disc on the last season of the "definitive" DVD set.

Aww it's over. I have extremely fond memories of watching this show when I was a kid with my Dad. These marathons do bring back memories...and cheers for Burgess Meredith's amazing acting talents.

Gladys Cooper probably was my favorite recurring actor with her "Nothing in the Dark" and "Night Call" episodes in particular impressing me.

re: TWILIGHT ZONE MARATHON

And "Kick the Can" was another classic, moving one.

I loved "The Shelter" and actually directed it in an evening of One Acts I did many years ago.

Phyllis (God, I hate calling you that, K..) I'd love to have that collection, but it's expensive. You are one lucky guy.

"Is the script to THE SHELTER available anywhere?"

It was so long ago, I can't remember if we had a script or if we just transcribed it from the TV...
