Delete this if I'm not supposed to do this, but does anyone want a ticket to see Young Frankenstein matinee tomorrow? The seat is Orchestra F 114. I ordered it yesterday and realized with was the wrong date - I won't even be IN New York. (You'd be surprised how much a 2 can look like an 8.) It cost me $132.65, but I'll let anyone who can go to the Box Office and pick it up have it for $100.
(I called TicketMaster and the tickets have already been printed so there's nothing they can do for me.)

Or not. I'm kicking myself for not paying closer attention to the date. Oh well - a learning experience, right? ("Always look on the bright side of life...")

If you don't get a buyer, make sure you still pick up the ticket if you're in NY soon. You may be able to still use it as past-dated, depending on their policy.

The ticket's for tomorrow and I won't be in NYC until the 17th. How would past-dated work?

If you have more advance notice and that ever happens again, stubhub.com is a good place to try to sell tickets. I couldn't go when I had tickets in November, and I was happy because I was able to sell them.

Call the box office again and tell them you'll be out of town but to hold on to the ticket so you can pick it up next week. They usually do anyway, actually, at least in my experience. Anyway, while you're on the phone with them, ask what the past-date policy is. If they have a policy, usually you call the same day and ask if they'll honor them (weekday performances only usually) and they'll tell you if they have availability or not. I've only done it once for any show but it was fairly easy, though my tickets weren't QUITE as good (same section, way further back). You may have a harder time doing that near Christmas, but if you'll be back in NY again in the coming months, they will also probably still honor it then.
