you know, one day you are waking up on Christmas morning to the toy gas station (with cars, elevator, etc) you wanted for months, and then the next moment you are opening up a Christmas card from an old high school friend which contains a picture of her 16yr old and 21 year old sons.

Where did it all go?

Getting old is hell.
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.

it hit me when the little worm that used to ride around on my shoulders and refuse to go to sleep until i told her a story and swept her room for monsters sent me a pic showing that she's a big brassy 21 year old with long crimson curls, a smile that could melt the poles, big blue eyes and a pair of 38dd's. or when the little baby whose diapers i changed and whose nose i wiped told me he both benched 350lbs and drank an entire bottle of jaeger and was equally proud of both!

thank god for tom waits...

well the smart moneys on harlow and the moon is in the street
and the shadow boys are breaking all the laws
and you're east of east saint louis and the wind is making speeches
and the rain sounds like a round of applause
and napoleon is weeping in a carnival saloon
his invisible fiancees in the mirror
and the band is going home, it's raining hammers, it's raining nails
and it's true there's nothing left for him down here

and it's time time time, and it's time time time
and it's time time time that you love
and it's time time time

and they all pretend they're orphans and their memorys like a train
you can see it getting smaller as it pulls away
and the things you can't remember tell the things you can't forget
that history puts a saint in every dream

well she said she'd stick around until the bandages came off
but these mamas boys just dont know when to quit
and mathilda asks the sailors are those dreams or are those prayers?
so close your eyes, son, and this won't hurt a bit

oh it's time time time, and it's time time time
and it's time time time that you love
and it's time time time

well things are pretty lousy for a calendar girl
the boys just dive right off the cars and splash into the street
and when they're on a roll she pulls a razor from her boot
and a thousand pigeons fall around her feet
so put a candle in the window and a kiss upon his lips
as the dish outside the window fills with rain
just like a stranger with the weeds in your heart
and pay the fiddler off 'til i come back again

oh it's time time time, and it's time time time
and it's time time time that you love
and it's time time time
and it's time time time, and it's time time time
and it's time time time that you love
and it's time time time

well I just find it odd that I haver never received a pix of her kids til now. Not in any other Xmas card, not when I saw them at a reunion 5 or 6 years ago.......

We were very close, I spent a fortune on her wedding day in 1975 to call her from Germany as I couldn't be there....odd, it's just odd.
