Imperial Theater and Seating for Osage

Thinking about getting tickets to see "August: Osage County" on Sunday. Is row R in the orchestra too far back for this production? I'm not a big mezanine fan. Any suggestions?

If it's under the overhang, it's too far. A good portion of action happens on the top two floors of the house on stage, and you can't see it from the rear mezz

How is Row L Center Orch on the aisle?

I can also get row A in the front mez, center.. is there a bar or anything that will obstruct the view?

Row L downstairs is fine.

I was in section 3, Row A in the front Mezz. Those are the seats you want. Just double check that they are section 2 or 3.

Anyone know what kind of tickets one gets via using TDF? I would think for this show, that mezzanine tickets would be more beneficial, since the set it two stories. Am I wrong?

I don't know where they are. But unless you've already gotten them good luck getting them through tdf at least at the moment. I tried every single one of the times they were "offering" on the site last night for one ticket only and every single one gave me the "there are not enough tickets to meet your request" page. So since I only needed one ticket, they were obviously sold out. I don't get why it doesn't disappear when they're all gone.

There are 4 sections across the front mezz of the Imperial, house right to left, 1 through 4. Ergo 2 and 3 are the center sections. This doesn't mean that you can't see from 1 and 4, but the perspective is better.

There is a $49.50 discount out there for orch-fr mezz seats through the 23rd. I can't remember where however, but look around.

I would be fairly certain that there are some tix at TKTS at least until Christmas-New Years weeks. They might be rear mezz. I also think the very back of the house is cheap, $25-30.

The key point however is do not miss this play. I'd say it is the odds-on favorite for at least the Pulitzer.

God, this is so frustrating!!! TDF has supposedly added more dates AND the ones I checked last night are still up there, but it won't let me get ONE ticket.

I know it has the very limited double asterisk, but why don't the dates disappear once they're not available???

eat: Ok, I found a rear mezz $26.50 seat for tomorrow night. Yay! (There was one tonight too, but I can sleep in on Saturday...I have to be coherent tomorrow. LOL.)

Apparently the TDF issue is that they let you hold something in your cart for 30 minutes, so that's why it shows availability then says there aren't enough tickets even for one.

How was the TDF seats- my two cxld performance was MEZZ? I hope its not REAR ORCHESTRA or REAR MEZZ. (or I wont be able to see the 3rd level of the house & miss some actions)

I sat in the front row of the rear mezzanine and thought that the view was perfect given the size of the set.

i bought my tickets for last night's performance from TDF on Tuesday, the day the review came out. Our seats were on the center aisle of the second row of the Front Mezz. All three of us that saw it felt that Front Mezz seats were probably the best in the house. This play is long, and has a three story set - so Front Mezz helps ease any feeling of claustrophobia and offers great sight lines.

Wherever you sit - don't miss this play... it's some of the best theatre i've seen in years.

Do you mean you can't see from Orchestra from H back "because of the Rear Mezz" overhang? Or do you mean that you truly can't see the second and third floor set from the Rear Mezz?

Saw it Thursday. I noticed that the last four rows of the rear orchestra were empty. I sat in one of the seats next to the last row on my way out and you can't see the top floor of the house. For this show, you want to see the top floor of the house.

I was in the rear mezz ~ the cheap seats ~ and could see fine. I was in section 4. I really had no complaints about the seating. I agree with others that for this show, the mezz in general is the best place to sit.

I saw it from row M (left Orchestra) last week. I purchased 1 ticket from broadwaybox, and got M5. I moved over to M21 after the first intermission (I am a tall guy, and moved to where there were no neighbors). The sightlines for the rest of the show were fine from the far left.

When I booked from Broadwaybox, I also had the chance to book a seat in Row A of the orchestra. I am glad I did not take it since I would have missed the scenes on the third level of the set

I sat in the front row center orchestra and saw everything perfectly.

It's a guilty pleasure getting to watch this story unfold up close.

We sat in row N side orchestra, and saw everything perfectly, for the Saturday matinee, 12/8, with room to spare on viewing the 3rd level of the house. The orchestra was sold out with the exception of the last two rows of the orchestra which were completely empty; they may not be selling those last two rows because of the obstructed view of the 3rd level of the house. The audience was very attentive throuout this 3.5 hour fine play.

I had TDF tickets the other night that were in the rear mezz, but dead center, which was nice. Because the house set is so tall, I'd say to anyone up there if you have binoculars bring them, but it was totally fine, and must be better than rear orchestra for the top level scenes.

And the acoustics were so good, my friend and I managed to hear a toilet flushing that sounded like it was behind the set during the last few minutes of the show, when things get rather quiet and tense. I actually thought there might have been another character still IN the house, but my friend leaned over and said wow, some actor had to pee at an inopportune moment there, and I'm certain he was right!
