Spelling Bee, A Chorus Line, or Curtains?

Pretty obvious. My neighbor and I are planning on seeing a show over Christmas break. I want to see Curtains or A Chorus Line. She, however, is dead set on Spelling Bee. What do you suggest?

I'd say Spelling Bee, purely because it's closing soon. All three are equally wonderful in their own right. Spelling Bee's the funniest, A Chorus Line is the most dramatic and touching and relatable, and Curtains is the most fun of the three.

I agree with the first person to reply, Spelling Bee.
You will probably enjoy it, and it IS closing soon after all, so you might never get the chance to see it-depending on how often you see bway shows.

although, is the original cast still on in Curtains? if so I would say that one purely because of Pierce and Debra Monk. But that's just me.

Anyway, if the other person is "dead set on spelling bee" what choice do you really have?

CURTAINS.

This cast of Spelling Bee is definitely not my favorite. Chorus Line is eh. Curtains is a great show with an amazing cast. Not even just David Hyde Pierce and Debra Monk. The entire supporting cast. In order:

Spelling Bee

Tough call...all three are fantastic. But I'll go with the consensus here and suggest you go see Spelling Bee given that it's closing very soon. I went with a few friends in early fall with no expectations but we all found ourselves in stiches. It really was quite funnier than I ever expected. I didn't anticipate belly laughs but you'll get plenty of joy out of seeing this musical.

I don't think you'll be disappointed.

You can't go wrong with any of them. Spelling Bee is closing soon so see that. It's one of my favorite Broadway shows. I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe, all 5 times I saw it. My next favorite on that list would be A Chorus Line. It pretty much screams Broadway show. It was funny and sad and touching. I cried a few times, and was in complete awe of what was going on onstage. Curtains is entertaining with a great cast. Rob Ashford is one of my favorite choreographers. However I found Curtains to be the one I remembered least after seeing it.

I just found out that my aunt is getting me tickets to A Chorus Line for Christmas. What the hell, it's closing, Spelling Bee it is.
