Passing Angels - for December

This is the final ‘angels’ post. I want to thank those who’ve had so many nice things to say about the thread. I do believe it had a very small but loyal following. It did take a lot of work, but it was an act of love and therefore was always fun to put together.

Thank you, Mamie - for this one, and all the others.

I'm left with Uncle Walt and John Denver - how sweet melancholy can be.

A labor of love...

You worked hard to keep up something that was a welcome spark of genuine beauty on the boards -- and for that, you deserve to be complimented. re: Passing Angels - for December As Defying_Gravity_Girl said, they've always left me feeling like I learned something.

I'm often too young to have my own personal memories of these people, but I got to work with Ossie Davis a few years before he died. What a kind, gentle, wonderful person he was. I'm glad to see you've included him amongst such honorable company.

Thank you all for the lovely words.

I just realized that this month starts off with Captain Hook and Peter Pan! Now I have to pull out the tape. The fact that I can do that is why they'll go on living forever!

Mamie, thank you so much for the time and dedication you have spent on these threads. They are truly some of the best threads on the Off-Topic board. You have done a wonderful job, and I love reading them. Thank you!

Hildegard was really a leading actress and singer in her native Germany and she was often compared there to Marlene Dietrich. She appeared in a few films in the US but she primarily appeared in German films. What made her unique was that she was the only German actor to ever star in a successful Broadway show - Silk Stockings, in the mid 50's.

I worked with Bert Parks (and Anita Bryant) when I was a kid dancing in the opening sequence of the Jr. Orange Bowl Parade.

Thanks for Mr. Joffrey, Mamie.
