The Movie SOUL FOOD...#1

So I just watched the episode of The Boondocks where Huey gives his hilarious description of the movie Soul Food. I was wondering how accurate it is. Anyone seen it?

What was the description?
I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

"Soul Food is the story of a big, fat black grandmother, aptly named Big Mama. Every Sunday, she cooks her family a big, unhealthy dinner of extremely greasy food that she calls Soul Foo. Then one day, she gets diabetes and has to have her leg amputated. Her arteries get clogged and she dies. And what does her family do after she dies? They eat the same damn food that killed Big Mama! They didn't learn a lesson, they didn't go on a diet!"

In their defense, they only ate like that once a week. It's one of those deep family movies, If you haven't seen it you should watch it.

Oh, it definitely had flaws. But man did it make me cry. My father was diabetic and had amputations--those scenes killed me. An imperfect movie, for sure, but it had a lot of heart.

Soul Food is one of my favorite films-very satisfying emotionally. I think the humor of the Boondocks quote is funny, but I think the film is a very good one. Vanessa Williams chasing her philandering cousin with a knife is PRICELESS!
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal "I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
