I saw a Salvation Army bell ringer today.

Well, at least it's somewhat close to Thanksgiving.

I saw more than a bellringer there this weekend, several NYC banks had their Xmas trees up, I heard Xmas music at LaGuaria this AM......

I'm looking forward to Macy's "Poinsettia Festival" inside the store. I think it's this week.

Christmas seems to come earlier and earlier each year. I mean I saw a Christmas Tree up before Halloween (Radio City Music Hall)!

There really is nothing like Christmastime in NYC.

But I feel a need to remind people to do a little research on the Salvation Army before you give them your money.

Yes, they do some good work. But so do others, without discrimination.

We leave our Christmas lights on in my room all year (turning off the real lights and plugging in the little ones is cozy, and at worst we can pretend we're Italian with the red, white, and green), but I'm about to start Christmas music-listening season. I know it's early, but... well, Christmas music is just too good to restrict to post-Thanksgiving!

Me too, DG.

I also usually end up watching one Christmas movie in the middle of summer each year... just to shake things up a bit.

It's a great way to mentally "cool off," too.

I watch A Very Brady Christmas every July. A truly wonderful and plausable plot, where, even though she is a guest due to the demise of her marriage, Alice dons the old uniform and apron, and the family treats her like a maid.

"Oh, Bob!"

Alice knows her place in society. Even at the holidays.

It warms my heart.

It's Christmastime in the suburbs too- my obsessed neighbor revealed his yard this year- the white plastic illuminated deer are back, which I always like because we have dozens of real deer in the neighborhood and they sniff incessantly at their eclectic brothers trying to figure out what the hell they are.
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.

Before the rush of xmas movies begins, I like to watch an actual Thanksgiving movie. Anyone else like Home For The Holidays? It's a comedy directed by Jodie Foster starring Holly Hunter, Robert Downey, Dylan McDermott, Charles Durning, and Anne Bancroft.

Exactly this time last year, I was in Orlando doing a show that lasted till Xmas Eve. I terribly missed Xmas in NYC. Which is why I'm thrilled to have seen the lights bedazzling Bloomies!

And in a reminder that faith can move mountains, the show proves to us that a Florence Henderson-led verse of "O Come All Ye Faithful" can move a collapsed building.

Heh, I must be the only Grinch on all of BWW--I'm tryiing to put off thiking about Christmas as long as possible, the season just does not appeal to me at all and it bothers me that Christmas seasom comes before it's even chilly enough to wear a winter coat nowadays.

Oh Cal...my favorite moment.

They show Carol-of-Days-Gone-By singing in a glorious soprano...and then cut to Latter-Day-Carol singing in a cracked, menopausal, Brenda Vacarro croak down two octaves! Sheer heaven.

Cut her a break, robbie! It's a tough song. It has a whole octave range in it.

I know that's the solo I was always asked to do Christmas morning.

But I wore a C-Brady Shag while I did it!
