Anyone think they'll bring Daphne back to help it close?

I assume this means THE COUNTRY GIRL with Morgan Freeman and Frances McDormand will take The Broadhurst?
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

JV92,
I am glad to see you are so happy that all those people are losing their jobs. That is such a nice statement.

Equus is scheduled for an opening that would qualify them for a Tony (early May).
I kept telling everyone this and no one wanted to believe it.

"Have they come yet?"
myManCape, THE COUNTRY GIRL was announced to open at a Shubert house in April (with a March start to previews.)
It more realistically fits the description of taking The Broadhurst than EQQUS, which would require the house sitting dark for almost half a year.

Gpvegas - no one ever said they wanted people to lose there jobs....Are you really saying that you'd like every show to run for eternity with the same cast? Get a grip.
Not surprised, but also wouldn't be surprised if it extends a couple weeks due to "popular demand."

First of all- IT WAS A LIMITED RUN. Those people knew going in that they would not be employed forever. Of course we knew it'd extend. It's Cameron's usual crap. But still, it WAS a limited run.
Second of all- There are plenty of jobs out there for chorus people. I'm sure A Chorus Line will be with us for a long time and that show needs replacements often. I'm sure the leading players will get work too.
So please... shut the hell up.

When a show closes people lose their job, therefore if you are so happy a show is closing then you have no concern for those involved.

Your last comment tells me exactly the type of person you are.
Sir Cameron and Co. said it would run for six months, then due to strong sales he extended it nine months. It was never open ended.
And they'll all be employed soon after. Believe me.
And I'm a very nice person, really. I just can't stand when people on this board get all whiney and say "Boo hoo! What about the poor actors?" When one of my favorite shows in recent memories, Grey Gardens, closed, I was not depressed and saddened Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson would be out of work, as I knew they'd be back on stage soon after (and they will). Instead, I was depressed that we were losing a great piece of theatre.
I'd hardly call Les Mis great theatre and I'm glad to see it go. It has run too long and this "revival" was not really needed.

Half a year? For an opeing the first week of May they would begin previews a month earlier (early April) and load in/in theatre rehearsal is at least 2-3 weeks before that. So try less than 3 months. (Granted an April opening of Country Girl would require it to sit idle for less time, 3 months between shows is not by any stretch of the imagination unheard of or unrealistic.) As I have said many times before the Equus producers had a standing agreement for the Broadhurst. They could change their minds if another theatre opens up that they prefer over it but right now Im 95% sure, its theirs.
This also gives Cam Mac the time to add in one final extension of a few weeks.

Per one of the Shubert security officers, Equus will play the Broadhurst.
well as a performer myself in the west end, if you think its really that easy to walk from one show straight in to another you obviously dont the business
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
i have to say i'm also not too dissapointed abou this news. I've heard some not-so-great things about this revival, and consequently never saw it...I'll be happy to spend my money on Daniel Radcliffe, however.

Next year, by the way, not now. Sept. '08 was the projection I heard.
I hope everyone knows that I was referencing jv92's earlier post.

Well seems like I might have to arrange my next NYC trip a week earlier than I had planned. I was going to go Jan 14th-18th, but now I'll try to come for the Second Closing
