Well I fully back Hercules, one my top 3 favorite Disney movie of all time of course. I think Nightmare Before Christmas could be very interesting.
Oh and forgot: Halloweentown. I would be very excited for that.
EDIT: AND Anastasia! I think that musical would rock!

JESUS.
"Zenon Ze Broadzay Muzical"
I'd "Razzer" Die.
Hunchback and Hercules.
Hunchback would work, obviously. I don't think Hercules would - I just think it'd be fun to cast the Muses.

I wish Disney would crumble to pieces and stop taking up space in our Broadway theatres by turning cartoons into overbloated musicals.

Please, Disney....take a break from Broadway!

PS - people often forget (*cough I.HEART.LINK cough*) that Anastasia is NOT a Disney movie! Look it up - it's a Fox animated feature.

PPS - that too. How about some original musicals, please? I would like to be able to buy a ticket to something that doesn't have "Based off of the film of the same name" somewhere in the Playbill...
*edit* Sorry, link, for sounding b!tchy. Its late. I didn't mean to come off that way!

I still maintain The Little Mermaid was a bad choice, and they should have done Hercules
Rant, Wickud, Rant, Wickud, Rant! We're not gonna pay Rant! 'Cause everythink is Wickud!

Yeah I liked Anastasia as well. Fox should join the lovely musical ranks.
Anyway, at least the musical after Little Mermaid won't be from a movie they've done yet.
I'd could probably see Aladdin, Mulan or Pocahontas as far as their semi-newer films. Oh and Hunchback sounds great too.

There is a musical version of Pollyanna, I believe. Wasn't that a Debbie Allen production, with a young Raven?
The Parent Trap could make a really fun musical.
If the copyrights could be worked out, I'm sure Disney would love to do an original Pooh musical.

Ugh. There are SO many amazing shows out there that won't ever see a Broadway stage because Disney keeps taking over. BATB and Lion King were enough...maybe even mary Poppins, but do we really need more?

It was a great musical of Pollyanna called Polly...
Phylicia Rashad was in it and Keisha Knight Pullam was Polly. It had some great catchy music. I think it would have made an excellent stage production.

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."
I actually like the idea of taking Bedknobs and Broomsticks to Broadway. It's not as well known as others but could still make a charming musical on stage.
Never really been keen on the Hercules idea, but if Susan Egan is willing to return as Meg I may change my mind...

I agree with CandyDog. Bedknobs and Broomsticks DEFINITELY.

Oooh yeah. I wasn't a big Bedknobs and Broomsticks movie fan, but even back when I saw it I remember thinking it would work better as a show and I'd probably like it better then. I'd go see it.

I think Disney should do HUNCHBACK when POPPINS closes, then forget the whole cartoon thing. They actually have a few real-people movies that I've thought would make good musicals. But what they really should do is produce something NOT based on a movie.

Close Poppins and open Hunchback!
I think Anastasia should, but it's not Disney, so....

I loved that movie as a kid. I had a tape of it, I think recorded from TV, that I watched over and over. Now I want to see if it's available on DVD so I can see it again.
As far as Disney movies that would make good stage productions...
I second Nightmare Before Christmas and Bedknobs & Broomsticks. I also wish I could've seen the stage version of Hunchback; that's one of my favorite Disney films.
