Footage of him in Hairspray and a quick interview with La Bass on ACCESS HOLLYWOOD tonight (thursday). Check your local listings. About 12 minutes into the broadcast.
You've seen the raw footage- how is he? Is the filmed portion from his opening night or his two "Trial Run's?"

"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!" -E!'s "The Soup"
"and the whole coming out experience." DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN
I think the ET segment showed more of his singing.
Either way, NICEST KIDS' sounds so different.

I saw him his opening night and I was really happy with how he did and I'm picky about my Hairspray cast members! Maybe it's because I've loved him for over 8 years, but I was pleasantly surprised by his vocal ability. I never thought he'd be able to pull off those two songs with that bass! I think you can tell he's really happy to be up there on that stage!
I have no pre-existing feelings about Bass either way, but I wasn't impressed with what I saw in the clips. He looked really stiff, and (to my eyes, anyway) visibly nervous. I'm chalking it up to a case of the jitters. If he has truly improved since then, great! I'd like to see him do well.
