An exclusive rumor on the ohnotheydiodnt blog:

ONTD EXXXCLUSIVE

So an industry insider who wishes to remain ~anonymous~ tipped us off about the next broadway concept that's nearing its completion ...Brokeback Mountain. (I **** you not...)

Can you guess what stars they're shooting for?

Man........ I dunno, PJ. Part of the wonder of that film was that incredible landscape; it was almost a character unto itself. Sure, it's possible to recreate that sense of vast space, but it wouldnt have the same sensibility.

Still, I wish them luck. I have a feeling BROKEBACK has jumped the proverbial shark, but that's just my inconsidered opinion.

I don't actually believe this, but I would think Hugh Jackman constitutes an "incredible landscape."

I can hear the score now!

"You're a queer one, Ennis Jordan!"
No good can possibly come from using this vast wasteland of error and deliberate deceit. You should get off of it and warn others away. You should make sure your children and grandchildren know what a corrupt and morally bankrupt institution it truly is.

Because this is going to help Hugh with they gay rumors.

I'd see it for Marsden, though.
One time, Patti LuPone punched me in the face...

It was awesome.

Why make a musical, an artform in which people express themselves through singing lyrics, based on a story about two people who are incapable of expressing themselves verbally?

A dance-theatre piece starring Scott Wise and John Selya, on the other hand...

Kringas,

As far as I'm concerned, there's only one person capable of writing the lyrics for this piece.

Get that pencil ready.

And by 'pencil'...you know what I mean.

Actually, this has been in the works for a long time. Nathan Lane was supposed to star in it with Matthew Broderick. See:

"Uh, Ennis, I'm afraid that's not a pen - is
that your man parts, poking in my a$$ tonight?"

Ennnnissssssssss!

Ennis, I b*tch
But I can't quitcha, Ennis
Ennis, can't quitcha

Ennis, I b*tch
But I can't quitcha, Ennis
Ennis, can't quitcha

Let his a*** not be torn
Let his h*** leave no stain
When I f*** him,
Let him not complain

Let his bone remain hard
And however I try
To f*** harder
Let him never cry,
Let him never cry

Ennis, I b*tch
But I can't quitcha, Ennis
Ennis, can't quitcha

Ennis, I b*tch
But I can't quitcha, Ennis
Ennis can... Ennis can't!

What good is this whining?
I can't even tell what I'm feeling
I can't be sure I feel this for a guy
Oh, Ennis, I love you
So much more than ladies
There's no chance once we leave the ranch
This can surivie

No good steed
Gives such troubles
No good horse does much
But let you ride them
No good steed
Gives such troubles
Nor do sheep
But I look at this man
And all I do is weep
No good steed
Gives such troubles

Let all Wyoming be agreed
I'm homo through and through
And since in these here parts
That's worse'n bein a Jew
I promise no man's c***
Will ever pass my lips again
Ever again
No man's c*** ... Will I s*** ...
AGAIN!

Am I the only one who found the name "Ennis" a little bit funny or peculiar? Is it me, or does it sound a like a part of the anatomy - particularly one that was, shall we say, invaded on Brokeback mountain? Maybe I just have a sick mind, but that totally distracted me throughout the whole movie.

Anyway, I'll just wait and see with this rumor of it's possibly coming to Broadway. I wonder what the marquee would look like
The morning star always gets wonderful bright the minute before it has to go --doesn't it?

Did Michael Moore and Chris Matthews accept the starring roles?

Oooh, how cutting edge, gay-sliming Matthews and Moore. Very Boehmer going after Hagle. Wimps and queers, successful surges and premature pull outs, so many metaphors, so little time, so much synthetic testosterone, so few balls.

Agreed with robbiej. The duo singing their hearts out would completely ruin the overall theme of the story.
