If all goes as planned I'll be seeing it in Denver in August or else in November in NYC.
2008 European Tour
London: Les Mis, Lion King, Sound of Music, Joseph, Hairspray, Billy Elliot
France: Le Roi Lion, Cabaret
Germany: Der Konig der Lowen
Holland: Tarzan & Les Mis
I think that the Buzz is so low because, like Tarzan, Disney has kept tight wraps on what this will be like. No one seems to know what to expect. It sounds like they are aiming for it to be a feast for the eyes. This worked for Lion King. Let's hope it has a bit more soul beneath the pretty visuals.
The article in the Denver Post made it clear that they don't just want people to notice the sets and costumes, they want to get the story across; which is good! I'm really excited for this show!
I am also going on Aug. 21st but thought I might pop over to the box office at lunch tomorrow to see if they have any cheap seats for Thurs. or Fri. My August seats in in the orchestra.
I am so excited for this show. I really hope there will be a way for me to get tickets when I go to NYC in December, I was stupid and didn't book them earlier.
I do think that after what happend with Tarzan disney is keeping this show underwraps. I do think that the will soon release press photos after they open up in Denver.

Would there normally be press photos soon after the previews begin on July 26, or will they likely wait until the official opening night in Denver, which isn't until August 23?
I think press photo might come out after the opening. I know the president of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. I will shoot him an e-mail and ask. although I know he is probably busy preparing for Thursday.
They just hung the logo banner for the show at the entrance to the DCPA. I can see it from my desk.
I was walking near the DCPA today and decided to stop in to see if they had anything left in the balcony between Thurs and Sunday. All they had were 3 seats in the back of the balcony on the far sides.
