Last night I asked on the board whether or not I should dress up to the Hairspray premiere in Baltimore. Well I DID! I was Penny and my sister was Amber. Boo on you guys who said we'd look stupid, because we got a ton of attention! I felt like one of the stars. When we walked past the news crews before the stars showed up the press went crazy! There was like 12 cameras asking us to pose and they asked our names and where we lived. They were like "Look over here! Look over here now!" OMG! It felt awesome...felt so right! haha! I can't wait to check out the papers tomorrow!
When the cast (Nikki, Zac, Elijah, James, Amanda, and Adam Shankman) showed up everyone was insane! There was so many more people there than I expected. I would say at least 500 or 600 and that I think it impressive for Baltimore. The girls were screaming there lungs out! It brought me back to my *Nsync days! Thank you Zac Efron for bringing back the teeny bopper! This girl started bawling when Amanda came over to her. The number of "OMG! ZAC I love you!" screams was uncountable! James is gorgeous! OMG! I underrated him! Zac is obviously such a cutie! Amanda is gorgeous and Nikki is absolutely adorable! Security tried really hard to contain people, but the crowd wouldn't let them. Every time another celeb would get on the red carpet people rushed passed security and then they would try to get them behind the gate again.
My sister and I are quite sneaky and determined when it comes to concerts and things like this. I've basically met every celeb I really want (except Leo). So we snuck into the gated press area with the help of one of the press women. She was so sweet! This is how we were able to meet and take pics with EVERYONE!! It was amazing! Zac said he liked my sister's Amber tiara. Nikki told us she had to take a pic with the Hairspray girls! And Adam said, "You girls look FABULOUS!" It was everything I hoped it would be! YAAAAAAY!!! Oh and tomorrow I'm going up to NY to see the show again for the 7th time! haha! I love life!
The pix are truly amazing! The cast seems so nice.

This is exactly why people told you not to. Not because you would look stupid, because people weren't there to see you. Essentially what you did was draw attention away from the movie and the stars who worked hard to make it happen. Regardless of whether or not it was fun and you got some great photos, it is kind of shallow that you just wanted the attention.
I hope some of the photo websites cover the event- they have yet to update. no doubt you'll be in some of the shots.
If I see them- they are soo going on the blog. :)
I want to talk about my NYC Premiere experience- but after the awful time most people had at the Evite screening- I dont want to sound like I am gloating.
anyway- you two are the SHI...Bees Knees. :)
"Zac is sweet as can be. He's very much just a sweet kid from California who happens to have a face that looks like it was drawn by Michelangelo, (if Michelangelo did anime)." -Adam Shankman.
"I haven't left this building since Windows 3.1!"
"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!" -E!'s "The Soup"
So lucky! I am happy you had fun and such a nice night!!
"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
BJ- its perfectly acceptable for fans to dress up (eg. star trek, pirates, star wars, rings, the list goes on)
So what, they got attention- it shows that fans do exist- and they care.
Plus - two beautiful girls done up like porcelain bookends, That's great stuff.

bjh2114, maybe you missed the part where I said we got attention BEFORE the stars showed up, like an hour before. we dressed up to be cute and supportive of the film, not to take attention away from the people in the movie or those who made it.
You 2 are simply gorgeous babes -- you would have fit in perfectly on ANY red carpet. You guys weren't in ridiculous costumes but in apropo dresses. You 2 more than fit in with the situation at hand.
Now...if you babes looked like the typical Broadway-types who hound stagedoors -- things definitely wouldn't have worked out the way they did.
Great work, ladies. You're the exception to the regulars on this board.
BrodyFosse123- You took the words right outta my mouth.
Are you girls single?
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer
"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher
In fact- they should have had girls like you at all the premieres- fun, gorgeous, lil party promoters giving out Hairspray goodies.

Phantom, I doubt they want to date a gay guy like you. They want men who don't worship Ashton Kutcher.
Well, now guys, let's go see Hairspray with friends this weekend and turn the movie into a huge hit!

While I had a great time and got to meet/get autographs from some of the cast... my night was less enjoyable when I went back to my car and discovered that it had been broken into.
muscle- Sorry to burst your bubble butt, but I'm not a gay guy.
