Can someone tell me the story behind the shrinking down of her role and her feelings regarding this matter? I remember reading an article where she discussed this but cannot find it.

I had to pull out my book because I couldn't remember off hand, but the Titanic book describes Judith and her character as initially having a ballad sung by Caroline to Charles Clarke called "I Give You My Hand" which was replaced by another song called "I Will Love You" and a third more commentary number entitled "Social Class" before it was decided that Alice and Edgar Beane were the more favorable 2nd class passengers to focus on and the song between the Clarke's was finally cut. The book mentions the understandable consternation of the actors and Maury Yeston who had written three songs for Judith and Don and none ended up in the final production. They do, however, have an unrecorded musical moment in scene three where they are looking through the 2nd class promenade into the 1st class dining saloon along with the Beanes.

Judy has several songs to sing in the new musical LADY ON A CAROUSEL. She is singing and playing opposite Michael Rupert the private reading in late July.
