Why don't we wait until both shows actually get the chance to open and get reviewed before we start predicting?

And they can both be big hits.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

It's just a message board. Let's not take it too seriously.

Those are actually the two shows I'm interested in seeing next spring. I'm going to wait and see how they are received before I get my seats.

Since this question is theoretical and just a whim..i'm going to play along and say that Frankenstein will be the bigger hit.

i don't care much for reviewers...and i don't depend on what they say. There's no way someone else can decide for me what to watch and what not to watch.

but my cards are on Frankenstein just because of the magic that Producers created with Brooks/Susan S. and that AMAZING cast !!!!
and the money and etc etc.....

Disney to me is soooo washed out. I hated Disney as a kid..i felt they always destroyed the true stories of the classics of Cinderella, snow white..etc. they fluff everything out and make everything so 'happy'..when in reality its not.
and Tarzan and Mary Poopins have been true 'clunkers' for me..didn't enjoy them at all.

so i'm placing bets on Frankenstein. out of the two.

BUT I DO HOPE there's bETTER coming on its way out there.

Neither. EQUUS.

...or GREASE re: Which show will be the big hit this season - MERMAID or FRANKENSTEIN.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

No brainer, if it's between YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN and THE LITTLE MERMAID.

YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN stands alone.

I think THE LITTLE MERMAID will get the same reception that TARZAN and MARY POPPINS garnered -- lackluster reception.

i also think that FRANKENSTEIN will do better than MERMAID

i have nothing to back it up with, but im just assuming.

MERMAID might do well, but i dont see it selling out or anything.

Wicked63, the Rosie/DVD petition is years old, and Rosie told me it's happening. Look for Season 1 in 2008 - MAYBE even Fall 2007!!!. re: Which show will be the big hit this season - MERMAID or FRANKENSTEIN.

Both will be huge hits. Frankenstein will be THE hit and Little Mermaid will of course do well because of it's commercial/tourist appeal, Disney, etc.
