I enjoyed looking at the pics. I'm surprised that they were able to pull off the show in what appears to be a very small space. Candleshoe2--Do you have any pics of their current production of "My Fair Lady"? I would love to see how they handle the show in their space.

It kinda makes me sad when productions of current shows happen and they don't really do anything new with the show. I didn't see this production, but judging just from the pics and rehearsal clip it seemed like they just did the show that you can see in NY or on tour. I mean, if you're going to do the show why not do something new with it?

anyone notice the picture of anika, beyonce, and jennifer on the wall during (what i'm guessing is) "without love"? it's the right side of the picture, on the back wall.

sidneybruhl- I do not have any pictures of "My Fair Lady", but I'm sure once the run is up or it comes close to an end, the webiste gallery will update.

withoutlovewithoutU- I've seen the Broadway and tour companies, and this show was not a replica at all. The set and costumes were very different (and unique?) and the talent was in some ways superior to what is seen on stage at the Neil Simon Theatre. The original dance captain had permission from the creative team to use some of the choreography and staging, but a lot of it was different.
I understand you did not see this production and are judging it by the YouTube clip and production photos, so it may be hard to spot the differences. I wish you could have seen it! You'd probably be pleasantly suprised.

Candleshoe2, weren't you the one to badmouth another production in your original post based on their YouTube clip? So it is OK there but not with this production?

I was just saying that the YouTube clip was all they had to go by, and I wish they could have seen it live. I didn't take it that they were badmouthing at all. I know it sounds like I'm defending this show, but I'm just very pleased with how well it was done.
...And I never meant to sound like I was talking down about the North Shore production. I heard a lot of great things about it. I wish I could have seen it as well.

Candleshoes2,
You actually said:

I was a little weary about seeing a regional theatre put this show on, after being a bit disappointed by NSMT’s, but once the show started, I knew I was in for a treat!

Also you did say "not everyone was terrible" regarding the NSMT production.

You made it sound like you saw the production. You certainly don't make it sound like you saw a little tidbit on youtube and judged the entire production by that. Which is what you did!

Anyways this production looks so terrible. Why are you posting pics that make the show look terrible and then being like go see it. Costume wise this show is just a mess nevermind the set and other elements. This looks worse than a Middle School production and you have the nerve to insult North Shore Music Theatre. Somewhere that is known nationally and has won numerous awards and actually gets alot of talent straight from broadway. They put alot of work into a show they dont just slap it together and call it "unique"

Next time you decide to "talk down" please educate yourself first. Or at least dont put something else down to make what your talking about look better.

I was hoping to attend The Little Theatre's production of Hairspray, for I saw a show there a few years ago and was quite impressed at how professional their productions are. I'm glad to hear that Hairspray was no exception.

There's no need to start an argument. Again, I didn't intend for my comment about North Shore Music Theatre to be insulting and to offend you. All I said was that I was a BIT disappointed by NSMT's production. And I did not base that conclusion off of just a YouTube clip. I have a full recording of the show, which at least gives me an idea of how the performers sounded, and a few of them were not up to par with the others. Bridie Carroll is a phenomenal Tracy, and I really enjoyed what I heard of her. I also LOVE Paul Vogt's portrayal of Edna, and can completely understand why he is currently on Broadway. There were a lot of talented people involved in that production, but there were a few people in it that I did not care for. Other than that, it was a very successful production and I wished I could have seen it live, so I could better compare the two. I agree with you that the costumes, wigs, and sets used in Sullivan were not as good as they could have been in, but the talent on that stage was immense, and that is what most of my review commended.
