It's not the most over-rated show EVER, Thes. I would give that to either Cats or Les Miz if we're talking EVER.

No, wait. The Producers. Ever.
It's just a message board. Let's not take it too seriously.

They should make a musical of 'Final Fantasy VII', because it's already the most overrated video game of all time, and Square Enix just can't leave it alone at the moment. That would most certainly end up being the most overrated musical ever.

As it currently stands, I'm likely to go with 'Cats'. I think. Or 'The Producers'. I mean, I do like 'The Producers', but all those Tonys? Pfft! And the less said about 'Cats', the better.

Despite the fact that I'm suffering from major Spring Awakening fatigue right now, I'd have to say that Cats is highly overblown.

Spamalot won Best Musical and Best Director over three more deserving shows, so in my book that qualifies it as most overrated.

For others, I would mention Cats, The Producers, and Phantom.

wait wait wait wait, I vaguely recall everyone (basically everyone) on the site being in love with SA and now that it won a bunch of tonys (granted some undeserved, but still) we hate it?
Can, can I have it?

I've always viewed Spring Awakening as the model of mediocrity on Broadway since I saw it.

Les Miserables.
And then what if you are?
What a Prince would envision?
Although how can you know who you are till you know
What you want, which you don't?
So then which do you pick:
Where you're safe, out of sight, And yourself, but where everything's wrong?
Or where everything's right And you know that you'll never belong?

Spring Awakening is the mose overrated show this year. However, The Phantom of the Opera is the most overrated show of all time.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
