I hope not. What will Tommy get in trouble for, then, smuggling parrots?

I haven't heard anything about this, so I can't say for sure.
How long is the show? If it's over 2 hours, it'll probably be cut down. But, if they can cut the intermission, and still have it under 2, I think it'll okay.
Again, don't quote me.

I wonder if they're going to cast a new company specifically for Vegas or if they'll have one of the touring companies take the gig.
I don't think the show would flow very well if you cut the intermission. Although I actually think the Act 1 finale is the weakest scene in the show.

Wow Kathryn! You are on top of it! You have no idea how I am going through withdrawal right now from seeing the last 1st tour show last night

dont worry you will be fine, trust me! I did the same thing after I saw the broadway show for the first time.

I thought this part in particular was interesting.

That is interesting news. But I would think it would be at the end of September or beginning of October,so they do the instant switch of cast again. But I am liking how they're letting SF get to experience 3 different casts. Although I think it would be even better if they gave SF a long term sitdown cast eventually.

I wonder if that means it would run until the end of the year, too. I know it says "possible," but three months here before Vegas? Seems excessive, especially since it seems attendance has been down in SF since the announcement of the extension.

When I went on the Saturday (5/5) matinee, the theater looked sold out to me. But then I couldn't get a good view of the back of the balcony and mezz. It might just be on the weekdays.
Edit: What have been the recent weekly grosses for the JB tour?

I haven't been to Vegas for years but is there any show that has an intermission there? I think b/c they sell alcohol drinks and they can bring those drinks inside the theatre, it would be hard to have an intermission in any show. I mean drunk people may leave after the intermission (which is fine) or start disrupting the show.
I guess the producers don't mind people leaving after the intermission (since they already paid for the tix), but another reason to shorten a show is so that they can do double features in one evening.

I'm sure the weekly grosses are still great.
But the balcony has been half empty every time I've been in the past few weeks, even on Saturdays.
Would the new cast rehearse the full show for SF then have to cut it for Vegas? What a pain.

The tours do.

That's what i was wondering. Unless the set in Vegas would be identical to SF's -- then, if the show is cut, they could, I suppose, rehearse the shortened show in the day on the SF set and leave everything at night the way it is for the full show and the 2NT.

But this company doesn't seem to be a tour company. It opens at new Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino on the strip. So it will definitely stay as long as they can sell the tickets. And since it'll be playing Casino, I assume they will have two shows per night like POTO does currently.
But this company doesn't seem to be a tour company.
Exactly, but I was just answering your question.
The audition notice doesn't say anything about the number of performances a week, or of splitting the roles 5/5, which I thought was interesting. (Did Vegas Phantom say so in its open call? I seem to think it did.)

Looks like they're starting the search for the Vegas company. They posted up notices for open calls on the Jersey Boys Broadway site. They're also up under the Press tab on the tour website.

And no mention of doubling! Huh.
