Meghan is Michael's assistant.

I recognize the addiction to being alive.

Well, just because Patti zoomed off with husband and son doesn't mean they didn't all meet up somewhere. I mean, from how it sounds, it's not like the cast could just stroll down the street looking for a bar... (though how fantastic would that be, with the whole audience following!)

Maybe even Sondheim met them somewhere. We can dream!

Meghan is Michael's assistant who Yankee and I were talking about.

People were definitely discussing a party.

"We don't value the lily less for not being made of flint and built to last. Life's bounty is in it's flow, later is too late. Where is the song when it's been sung, the dance when it's been danced? It's only we humans who want to own the future too." - Tom Stoppard, Shipwreck

Umm, I think I missed something...I don't know how we got onto this confusing subject, but every show generally has a closing party after their last show. Sweeney certainly did.

Oops, sorry. This thread is moving too fast for this little ol brain of mine, lol.

She IS adorable though. Not to sound all stalkerish, but does anyone know anything about her? I'm just way too interested for my own good.

Thanks to everyone who's posted reviews, pictures, etc. It's wonderful, if saddening, to read and see them.

I never got to see the show, but, as I've said on other threads, the cast recording is beautiful, intense, provocative and evocative - much more so, I think, than any other recording I've heard. From my reactions to the recording, from clips I've seen and articles I've read, I'm sure that I would have found the show a thrilling, unforgettable experience.

I can't help but think that maybe, just maybe there's a silver lining to the show closing this early - the original cast being able to stay for the entire run. This cast (again, I base my views on articles, reviews, etc.) seems very close-knit and devoted to the show. I know that Judy Kaye was a great Mrs. Lovett in Ms. LuPone's absence, but I'm sure that some (e.g. BWW posters!) may have found any of the cast members permanently leaving the show to be as tragic as the whole show closing. Just a thought.

I certainly believe that some of tonight's magic was due to the fact that the original cast was intact. Not many people are as multi-talented as this troupe. It is a night that will never be forgotten, in my mind anyway.

And, regarding Sondheim, he bolted out of the theater quicker than anyone expected and up 49th. He took a picture with two girls who chased him down. He's such a gentleman and extremely shy. Updated On: 9/4/06 at 01:19 AM

I agree. BEcause of the nature of the show, and the small size, it really is best that it closed with all of them together. They were very close.

Indeed Neddy.

Kind of exhausting.

And overwhelming. I cried when I got back to the dorm--just the combo of the lcosings, on top of...starting classes soon and other all that jazz. Felt better after talking to my mommy and some friends though Farewell, Sweeney!

Taken down. Farewell, Sweeney! For some reason one of my posts was taken down too, it's either because I mentioned a bar or Gibson, lol. Whatever. I didn't realize this place was that strict.

Anyway, to anyone who wants to share pics: Please go and post them on MC's imdb message board if you can, that way there will be a link there forever. :)

One last thing before I go.

Not that it matters, but I noticed a very pregnant Mylinda Hull walk out of the stage door.

really? she was in the audience? i don't know if she was mentioned in the closing speech when he was talking about past cast members...

when he neglected to mention her, i thought to myself, thank goodness she isn't in the audience...yikes!

Edit: this is the Sweeney stage door....not the DRS stage door. Not to worry...Mylinda didn't hear the DRS closing speech then!

ROTFLMAO!

Withoutatrace, you're confusing the closing shows you saw!

Understandable mistake though.
