I heard they are planning on doing a Cats like DVD. I am assuming this is just wishful thinking on the informants part. but if there is any truth to it I would love to know. Thanks

You heard?

Anymore you can tell us besides that?

(Who bets they'll trot out Lea Salonga again?)

All I know is I am ALL ABOUT hearing her take on "I'd Give My Life For You" after having a baby of her own. Loved her blog on that...

I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see this show on DVD! I, however, like the clappings and the audience reaction, so maybe they can just release a tape from the original production? I just don't like the quietness after those showstopping songs... (That's why I don't like movie musicals that much either, but oh well)

I'd pay good money to get that.

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

There is a pro shot dvd that resides in the office of Cameron MacIntosh as the London production was filmed with the final cast. However its never been released.

I just played The Engineer in a production of Miss Saigon and I would LOVE to see a DVD of the original.

I would like this also. The last NY performance should have been filmed for release

The Manila production was also filmed professionally, Dec. 24 during it's run. It featured the largest physical production (a full three-story US embassy, for example) and also what can be considered the best cast (Leo Valdez as the engineer, said to be Cameron's favorite Engineer having played the role pretty much all over the globe, including the London closing; OLC members Lea Salonga and Isay Alvarez, Gigi; not to mention Will Chase as Chris). The video was handed out to cast members and is unforunately, not available to the public.

you know Miss Saigon'll come back to Broadway when the theater next to Phantom and Les Miz becomes available. And then Cats. Cameron'll have the whole block to himself.

That would be the Shubert, where Spamalot is playing, so don't hold your breath.

Aside from the "Making" on dvd? I would also pay good money for it.

I really don't want Cats to come back to broadway... It was already there for 18[?] years. It's been there long enough...

I grew up listening to Lea Salonga in Miss Saigon and Les Miserables. I would love a DVD of it.

Sorry, love, but if there is a show that almost has guaranteed revival(s) is that one... they did say "Now and forever", remember?

The Manila saigon dvd is amazing i managed to get one as my friend was in the cast. The quality even though pro shot is not the best but the cast are just amazing and it really is the best version of the show i have ever seen (I've currently seen it worldwide 52 times!) Lets just hope the final london cast is released as i was there and again it was a beautiful theatrical event!

Yes, and they still haven't gotten the stink out of that theatre.

Hi there,

I was wondering if there is ANY possible way to get the Miss Saigon Manila 2000 DVD? Because that is the BEST cast by far, and I so want to see it from start to finish. Not to mention that the vocals are incredible, and unfortunately there is no released soundtrack either! Any information you can tell me would be incredibly helpful. Thank you so so much :)
