Stephen Lynch does it all the time in The Wedding Singer. He does it especially in "Wedding Day", "Somebody Kill Me" and "Casualty of Love"
"Michael Cerveris has been said to give many people in the front row complimentary showers..."
As does Tim Howar.

I'll bet that Ralph Fiennes (Rafe Fines) sends his spittle out a yard!
It's gross. It's disgusting.
It's the price we pay for ART!
What other great actor spits?

Isn't Hugh Panaro also known for this?
"Who says you can't bend over backwards and eat bugs if you want to? I guess the bugs would probably say you can't do that that, but assuming that they are willing and consenting bugs, then there's no problem. Let's wig out eating bugs."

Ah, Hugh, the Lestat Phantom, or Phantom Lestat as the case may be now.
One has to wonder whether every Phantom there ever was (for they are the best of the best) SPAT?

Tim Howar doesn't spit so much anymore. I saw him a few days ago, and he was fine.
"It may not be well-known, but an actor properly projecting their voice does "spray" a lot in performance."
I completely disagree. Having seen theatre all my life, that is definitely not the case. Great actors should be able to project and enunciate so well that they in fact don't spray the audience. Spitting is a sign of bad tongue-teeth movements and an excess of saliva.
On with the discussion. :)

We're talkin' big name actor spittle here.
Sprucely saliva glands.
Who else can proudly declame their spit?

Alan Cumming did in Threepenny
"The hallmark of aristocracy is responsibility. Oh brother, that got me, that did me in!"
Yeah Michael.
During the Tony performance you could clearly see him spraying his spit all over the stage.

Douglass Sills did in "Little Shop"...ironically, the end of his main song he says "Now, Spit!" I love him.
Rosencrantz: "Be happy - if you're not even HAPPY what's so good about surviving? We'll be all right. I suppose we just go on."
- from Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead

Okay, I'm not trying to be rude, or anything, but I've noticed something in many threads you've started, nomdeplume. I like your threads, a lot of them are very funny and I like reading them, but your constant asking for more examples is a little annoying. Like I said, I'm not trying to be rude and don't take it personal, it's just an observation that gets a little annoying sometimes.

I'd expect no less of Cumming!
He'd spray with the best of them, master spit!
Pay no attention to what fools some mortals be, unknowledgeable on the spray of the well-trod boards!
What other actor is a grand champion spitter of the stage?

Like I said in the other thread, Ben Magnuson is more of a spitter than Cerveris. His spit jumps through the air; I've never known spit was capable of that. It's quite impressive.
John Lithgow was the premiere spitter at DRS.
And Mooney and I got a lovely shower of Michael Arden saliva in DC. That's where we met and bonded
