AHHH I just spilled soda all out of my mouth in excitment lol! I am soo excited and will definitley go see this multiple times. I love Duncan Sheik's music and the play this is based on and am a big fan of John Gallagher Jr. Can't wait to hear more about the transfer!

Can someone who may have seen the show or have a Playbill tell me how many people are in the orchestra and who the conductor is? Just curious to see how the show is done musically. Thx in advance.

My playbill lists a 'band' of four (guitar, bass, drums and cello) and Kimberly Grigsby is listed as the music director, but there is no conductor listed. The musicians all sat upstage against the back wall and the action took place right in front of them. Also, several times in the show, cast members played the piano.

I hope it's still running when I get up to NYC. I really want to see this. Anyone think it will go in the Helen Hayes? - I know it's a small theater, but this is a small piece.

I think it would be perfect for the Helen Hayes! Maybe it'll follow Lt. of Inishmore into the Lyceum...I don't know how long that show is planning on sticking around so maybe there?

True, but after a couple engagements the Helen Hayes will be open for new tenent. I've never seen the show, so not sure how it works or if they'll change - expand anything for Broadway.

Sounds like a cool idea. Maybe if they move it into the small Helen Hayes and it becomes a "hit" then they'll bring them back. I can see this being popular with the teen set.

This is AMAZING!

I bet Lea Michele is regretting having signed a contract to star in the 6-month revival of Les Mis. She is STUNNING in Spring Awakening and I cannot imagine anyone else playing her part.

I could see this show becoming the next RENT.

well it hasn't announced dates yet so maybe they are waiting for the spring b;c isn't Jonathan Groff supposed be doing Godspell or something this fall as well? Anyways I know that they love Lea and she has been with the show for five years now so maybe it won't open till spring or they'll have her return after her engagement in Les Miz

Maybe they'll wait for the spring so they can use it for their advertising. I dunno, SPRING Awakening opening in the SPRING. It just makese sense. Though I would love to see this show when I'm up in NYC in Nov.

Jonathan Groff's hometown paper had reported that he was playing Jesus in 'Godspell' at Paper Mill Playhouse (Sept. 20-Oct. 22), but when I interviewed him, Jonathan said nothing had been signed yet. And last I heard, that hasn't changed. It's probably very smart of him to keep his options open.

this was a really good show and i'm very grateful i got to see it Off Broadway. however, now i'm determined to see it again on Broadway if just for the sets alone

The Playbill article reads the following at the bottom:
"At every performances there will be 18 seats on sale for $10 each. Those seats are located on stage "mingled in among the actors." Tickets may be reserved in advance by calling [phone] or may be purchased at the box office (336 West 20th Street) two hours prior to curtain."

Can someone clarify how to get these? Firstly, the seats are really on the stage? What's the view like? And do I have the same luck getting them in person at the box office 2hr prior, or should I call and reserve in advance?

the seats are off to the sides in lines. there's actually a thread created on here about them if you search. they leave a few open for the actors to squeeze inbetween. i didn't sit up there but it seems like a great view.

also: i think you get them day-of if i recall. from the theatre (obviously)

I sat up there. Reserve over the phone in advance. The seats are AMAZING. You are literally on the stage. A great way to experience this show!
