Wow, it will be interesting to see how the other productions suffer, or if they even do.
I wonder when the lines will begin to queue up? Maybe next week?
Another sign of a healthy LA theater scene.

Some smart guy.
Well they pretty much put down any rumors of a Las Vegas production.
I'm interested to see who they decide to cast.

Wicked is taking over the world! New York, Chicago, tour, London, Japan, and LA. Wonder when casting will be announced...
If you like casting speculation (and really, who doesn't?) ... this other thread will keep you occupied for a while.
My guess is Megan and either Eden or Ana for the leads. At least to open with. Just a guess.

Idina & Kristin to open for a one month stint, maybe...hmmmmm...
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I guess Idina would be done with London in time to open this production if she wanted to, though it doesn't seem as such a risky move as opening in London is. I'm sure it will thrive.
Em, I was just saying, I wonder if the touring show will suffer if it chooses to go to cities close to LA, but like I said, I doubt it will have any effect. I think the tour should now focus on the smaller towns.

"I think this sit-down will do just as well or better than Chicago's sit-down."
It never ceases to amaze me how many people have it in for the Chicago production! Considering the show rakes in over a million dollars a week in Chicago, what do you mean by "better?" By that statement, you'd think the show was doing poorly.

I'm not sure the poster has it in for the Chicago production. Isn't the Pantages larger than the Ford Center in Chicago? If so, assuming the show is a hit (not a stretch, I know), it could gross more than the Chicago production, which as you said, does stellar business.

I would like to see two fresh actresses in the role rather than recycled performers, no mattter how talented they may be. JMO.

Fosse76, I meant the Chicago sit down is doing very well and L.A.'s sit down will be just as sucsessful.
Great for LA and WICKED
Good to know it's official.

YES!! I hope Idina and Kristen open because they are the best. I don't care what anyone says, they will always be the best at their roles and it's not because they are the originals, it's because they give it that something that makes it the best. Oh I really hope it's them!!!!

I hear ya, Mark E
If only they had just two extra weeks of previews!
Oh well, my only hope is if it runs at least a year and a half...
Oh, this doesn't mean Chicago's sit-down is closing any time soon, does it?

No, this is a separate, "new" production. Chicago won't be closing anytime soon, not with the grosses it's pulling in.
Told ya so!
I don't get much inside info, but the little I do, well at least it is reliable.
I have no idea on the leads though!

I don't think you have to be an "insider" to figure out that with the grosses it's pulling in, the Chicago Wicked isn't closing anytime soon.
