I never got around to seeing [title of show] during its first run, even though it sounded like something fun. I was glad to get a ticket to tonight's performance, the first of this new run.
It's fantastic.
The woman next to me was laughing so loudly that I almost couldn't hear at times. I was up front, but the audio seemed very quiet. I saw some wires, so I guess the actors were miced. But it didn't sound like the mics were turned on. The quiet audio was the only part of the performance that wasn't outstanding.
All of the actors were having a fantastic time tonight, and there were a few near crack-ups.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but it certainly exceeded my expectations.
Also- the OCR is for sale after the show in the lobby. It comes out 7/25 according to this site. Score yet another for Ghostlight/Sh-k-boom!
Are there any discount tickets available for [title of show]? It hasn't been on TKTS and as much as I would love to support the show by paying full-price, that just isn't an option for me.
Glad I reminded you about tdf, courtnyj. Hopefully we will both enjoy the show. I have taken some friends' advice and have NOT listened to the cast recording yet...even though I've had it over a week now. I'm looking forward to see this show tomorrow!
I'm loking forward to seeing it too! I wanted to see it during its first run, but there were so many shows on my list... My boss raved about the show. He said it was hillarious!

I am getting the cd for this which i think drops on the 25th and I want to see this show. People keep mentioning this one....
I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity**
Love is what I do **The Wedding Singer**
Xanadu - Best NEW Musical of the Season!
i'm seeing this next weekend. i, like you, was not able to see it on it's first go round but mostly because it left too friggin' soon! i'm very hyped for this production :) i love shows that make us theatre queens not so obscure!
You can also call the Vineyard and see if they need ushers if you want to see the show. You really don't have to do much but tear tickets and give out programs and you get to see the show for free. I was in the second row, center when I did ushered and it was a great seat!
They're actually not having volunteer ushers for this run...b/c it's a second run or more attempting to not be nonprofit? I don't know; I inquired, but they said none
Still go see it. I saw it in its previous run and enjoyed it immensely.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli
This show would hell like to promote what with that title!

I finally saw the show tonight (Fri 7/21) @ 10pm) and it was just absolutely wonderful. I laughed so much my face hurts and I got goosebumps and sniffly and I bought the CD on the way out and I'm already planning on seeing it again.
Heidi, Hunter and Jeff were all sensational, but I am in love with Susan. She killed me. (I think one of my favorite lines was "I'm giving them broken doll.")
But, then again, the Shields and Yarnell reference also slayed me. Oh, man, was this a satisfying show. I feel a little bad cause my friend and I were laughing so hard that we were getting some looks, and I hope we didn't ruin the experience for those people who did all their laughing on the inside. But, on the other hand...I hope we did.
homosezwhat, I'm so happy you had a blast at [title of show]! Susan is deadpan comic brilliance. Jeff is so damn cute, Hunter has that goofy hehe-esque accent, and Heidi has the most gorgeous voice. "A Way Back To Then" has me in tears every time I see it.

I would like to hear as well! I have been listening to the cast recording pretty much nonstop. It made me remember how much I loved this show! I can't wait to see it again. I bought a ticket for closing night, but I am hoping to catch it before then too! :)
I saw it this weekend and thought it was fantastic. LOVED all the references to the flops musicals (most of which I knew...and they mentioned Bring Back Birdie! So exciting!). I also LOVED all of the answering machine messages from celebrities such as Victoria Clark, Christine Ebersole, Emily Skinner, Marin Mazzie and Kerri Butler...did they actually record those messages? Absolutely hilarious. Ever since seeing the show, I have been listening to the cast recording a lot. I especially love "Two Nobodies In New York" and "Monkeys and Playbills." I hope to catch this show again sometime soon!
