I am going to a Tony Awards Party tomorrow(same one as WICKEDcool19) and we are dressing up as ANY character from Broadway...the winner gets a prize too! -Any ideas would be really helpful b/c i can't think of anything not overdone! Thanks!
A flapper outfit for Drowsy or Chicago would be SO much fun! But if you're looking for easier, eighties fro the Wedding Singer would be pretty simple to do. Eponine's also pretty easy, but likely overdone. Depends on what you're looking for.
Rosencrantz: "Be happy - if you're not even HAPPY what's so good about surviving? We'll be all right. I suppose we just go on."
- from Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
The cow from Spamalot? Muriel from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (with bedspread and all)? The Man in Chair from Drowsy Chaperone? :) (Good for both male and female)
The best costume. Go to Chinatown and get a red or black silk chinese jacket. A black wig. Some chopsticks. Some red chinese slippers. Go as HARRIET HARRIS A WINNER for Millie a few years ago. I have all that at home. Except I don't need a wig. Ha.
If you have dancer clothes, you could go as someone from A Chorus Line. Perhaps you could come up with a costume that closely resembles a character's from RENT?...Oo! What about a dorkie school uniform for Spelling Bee?
"I've always secretly longed for an actress to get to the top of the cherry picker and projectile vomit all over the guards below."- Wonderwaiter in the "Defy Gravity?" thread.
~~~~~~~~My dream? Sutton Foster as Cassie in A Chorus Line
