Sad Day. Like I said on the other thread, I think they should have gotten the show out there more. People read the reviews, but then don't see anything else about the show. If they could see performances and stuff.
But word of mouth was terrible. People were walking out in droves at intermission. I saw it previews and I overheard several people calling it the worst show they'd ever seen and openly laughing and mocking it. Critics didn't kill this show. It was simply a bad show that the public clearly disliked, told their family and friends to avoid and so after losing millions one can't blame the producers for pulling the plug.

Wow, this really surprised me. I knew the show wasn't doing very well at the box office and the reviews were terrible, but I thought that they were gonna hold out until at least after the Tony's.
Best of luck to the cast and crew.
"You drank a charm to kill John Proctor's wife! You drank a charm to kill Goody Proctor!" - Betty Parris to Abigail Williams in Arthur Miller's The Crucible
As I said in the other post, truly a tragedy. Best of luck to the cast, namely Allison and Carolee! Sad day.
...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...
I am so disappointed. Although I realize vampire genre shows don't last. I loved Dance of the Vampires and Dracula. I had tixs for July 15th.

I saw it coming but it still sort of makes me sad. I've never invested in a "flop" before this... I guess every major theatre fan has their favorite flop, eh?
The cast was just so talented and worked so damn hard for such a ****ty show. I wanted it to be the "little show that could" but money matters afterall. At least they made a recording.
The show, granted, was horrendous but I can only think of Hugh, Carolee, Jim, and Allison and how damn talented they all are and how hard they worked to keep a sinking ship afloat.
The cast was truly amazing. The show kept my attention for 2 1/2 hours which is something that is not easy to do. A crying shame. Everything is closing these days. Ugh!
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer

Do not look for Warner Brother back on Broadway anytime soon. They have learned an expensive lesson & one I do not think they will be repeating for a long time if ever
This does wonders for getting prospective deep pocketed backers to invest in Broadway shows
anyone know what i would be able to do with 2 tickets for june 8th?
i received them from someone (believe me, i did NOT pay for them) and don't know what the policy is regarding show cancellations/still-existing tickets/etc. if there is any known way to receive a refund or credit...i doubt there is, but please let me know!

With the reasons you give for ths show's failure, why were you surprised that it's closing?
I saw this coming, I feel bad for the cast, but the book was just completely flawed, the score had some moments, but it just wasn't worthy of Broadway, this is the third time vampires have invaded Broadway, let's hope it's the last. For those who want to hear the music before the CD comes out, go straight to the Lestat Musical Forum and download it (it's not illegal, approved by the administrator). Enjoy! This is one to remember (maybe not in a good way).
