...I assume you mean on Broadway considering that Kristy currently IS Elphaba in Chicago.

I think its safe for the time being to say that Steph Block won't be covering the role. She just got a huge role in a big show and if she did Elphaba after this, it would undertone her previous turn. At least the way I see it.

Idina says she may go back one day, but I doubt it. I'm sure she wants to move on.

Julia could be pretty likely, I suppose.

Kendra may be offered Glinda, even though she may want a break from doing the role on tour for a year.

Other than that, I dunno.

Clearly, Julia Roberts should be the next in line for either role. Actually, if I had my druthers, she would do both roles in repertory with Melanie Griffith. Sheer heaven!

LOL I can see that happening sometime soon. I would love to see Alice Ripley take on the role of Glinda and Judy Kuhn take on the role of Elphaba, although I do realize that Judy is a tad too old for the role.

Lea Salonga, most likely as Elphaba. She has made it known that she wants to be in "Wicked"(singing some of the songs in concerts and everything). So I could see her being in some production of "Wicked," though not for a while because of family things.

Just outta curiousity what do you think of "bigger" people playing either of the roles? Probably, Elphaba though. I Dunno, for some reason, I want to see Natalie Joy Johnson play Elphaba. She's got such a powerful, great voice and has great acting skills. But I doubt they'd every allow that.

I'm sorry but if Idina goes back, she is looking for major trouble. She may enjoy being Elphaba but seeing how the fans are now *while NOT in Wicked*- she is asking for trouble. That would be a HORRIBLE carreer choice *In my opinion.*

I think Kristin and Idina will be the once AND future Glinda and Elphie, respectively. (Well, I can dream, can't I?)

Well, Kendra's on hte tour until Sept. I know things can change, but I'm guessing she won't be replacing Megan.

Finally an age-appropriate casting choice! I'm so sick of all these young, immature actresses playing these roles.

I might also offer the following for consideration:

Elphaba - Carol Channing, Liza Minnelli
Glinda - Angela Lansbury, Barbara Cook

Lea Solanga as Elphaba, Christiane Noll as Glinda.
Ravinia could do LuPone as Elphaba, McDonald as Glinda, and Cerveris as Fiyero.
Or better yet, Harvey Fierstein and Rosie O'Donnell. Take your pick as to who's who.

Surprised I'm the first (?) to mention it:

Since my girl Katharine McPhee won't win Idol, I would love to see her as Elphaba. Age-appropriate, can probably act or at least has studied acting, and her voice is sounding more and more appropriate for the role. Her belt sounds reminiscent of Eden, while her stylistic choices and legit vibrato remind me of Sho.

Christianne Noll definitely has the voice for Glinda, but I've never seen her in anything funny, so it's hard to tell.

I want Kelly Clarkson as Elphaba.

Not really, but I just want to hear her sing Elphaba's songs.

What about Sheri Renee Scott? I think she would be good. Maybe a bit old, but i think she would be fabulous.

Hey, if they thought Julia Murney wasn't too old, then there might be hope for Sherie René Scott. I adore her and I'd be interested to see her in the role. But something tells me that she wouldn't be right. Who knows? I could be incredibly wrong.

EDIT: I'm not saying Julia Murney is too old. She's just not the fresh-out-of-college-or-at-least-looking-like-it spring chicken that they've cast in the past. I think she fits the role well.

Sherie Rene Scott is Glinda and Elphaba mixed into one. She's blonde and pretty and beautifully plays the shallow-yet-insecure (her Amneris was the best thing about Aida, imo), but vocally I hear her more as Elphaba.

I've been telling my friends that I think Sherie would a WONDERFUL Elphaba. Do I think she'll do it? No. But it's still nice to dream.
