I know that if you go to the website, which I just did the radio spot is up and Robert Cuccioli singing "Amsterdam" and "Carousel" , it sounds great! It seems as though they already recorded it, if it is on the website. I hope they do.
Well if it isn't recorded, you could always check out Ute Lemper's CD, ....But One Day, as it has an absolutely killer version of Amsterdam on it. It's not the same, but it wouldn't be a bad substitute.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.
There are already a couple of recordings of the show, and I would imagine there would be very little interest in a new one.
This show is VERY of its time - I do love the music but honestly, there is no reason to bring this thing back. I'm sure it will come and go pretty quickly.
The show isn't a limited engagement actually it is, at least on playbill billed as an open run. So who knows. Don't knock things out until you've seen it. Also I got a chance to go to the press preview of the show and there was nothing 60's about the music at all. So I would wait to pass judgment on something you haven't even seen yet.
I don't know. I had the same attitude before I saw their press preview and it was very good. Everyone who atended thought the same thing and we all were surprised that it didn't come off as dated, to be honest I didn't know of the show until shortly before I attended the preview. And I am not in my 60's. I just don't get why people on this board tend to bash things before they even see it. I am not trying to change your viewpoint on the show either for all I know the rest could be extremely dated but I am going to reserve my opinions until I see it as opposed to imposing my thoughts on something sight unseen. But everyone is entitled to their opnions.
