I saw Les Mis when I was probably 12 or 13. I'm much older than that now, so I am looking forward to seeing it again. It was always my favorite one of the big 80's musicals.

Oh joy! Oh rapture! Is the world ready for Joey Fatone as Jean Valjean?

You know the owners of the Broadhurst could have chosen to pick a different show for those six months--but didn't. I wouldn't worry about what could have been because obviously the owners wanted Les Miz more. It's all about the $$$ folks. Its not all bad though. Trust me, I would rather have six months of a "marquee-name" cast of a great work like Les Miz than six months (...or less) of shlock like the dreadful Doctor Dolittle. Who knows maybe these marquee names they are trying to lure will breath some new life into it.

EXCITED AM I, YES! YES YES YES YES YES YES YES! I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!

I am counting my pennies starting now. I'm going to buy tickets the moment they go on sale, mark my words!

At least it's just 6 months. I doubt it'll be longer. It has run most of its course, but I think the show is still popular enough to have a limited engagement!

Chrisloves...: The musician's union won't even allow one instrument to be replaced by synths. This is going to be amazing.

And if they do chose marquee names, I'm sure they'll choose people who are approiate for their roles.

I am so astonished. It's in Boston, near where I live, but I don't have time to go, so now I feel happy that I'll be able to see it in its original staging one last time!

GO LES MIZ!

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

WTF?!?!?! Why why why? Why don't they just bring in a new show. I thought there were a ton of shows circling for a theatre. This is such a random move.

Yay! I understand the misgivings, but I personally can't help but feel thrilled. At the very least, the return engagement will be brimming with euphoric nostalgia. It'll just be one big lovefest.

I'm thrilled as well; I love this show. I saw it twice during its last Broadway run and I can't wait to go back. I think it's a quality piece of theater that deserves to be seen, and so I have no problems with it being back on Broadway so soon! I'm excited to see who they'll cast!

I just my tickets to see it here in Philly! Then when I got home I went to broadway.com then saw that Cosette will be back! I just might watch it on Broadway. But if Lea will be Eponine, or Fantine, I'll be in line for good seats!

Welcome back!

Nope. Not happy at all. Frankly, it just screams ego. And weren't a lot of us just commenting how we want new shows in the theatre? Plus, I thought there was a lack of venues?

Well, it IS to celebrate Les Mis becoming the longest running musical in the world on October 9th in London.

There is a shortage of venues, but oh well!

People like Sondheim, ALW, Hal Prince, Cameron MacIntosh are creative teams of pretty high value and quailty. When a few of their shows do extremely well people run to support them. When most of their works are considered hits or even record breakers, the industry pretty much gives them the "rule of the land" when they ask for an encore.

Point being, this is Cam Mac's turn. Le Miserables is hitting it's 20th Anniversary next March. I'm sure there is something brewing about that. If part of that celebration is a limited run on Broadway, I say hats off, well deserved and ENJOY!

While I do think that Broadway needs new shows, this is a LIMITED run (I will be upset if it goes over 6 months) celebrating a historical moment in theatre history.

Awesomeness. :) I won't get to see it, but this is good news. And I too hope that we get another cast album out of it.

I hope they get people who have never played these roles before. ie no Colm Wilkinsen etc. New people please!

The road company does have the revolving floor - I just saw it on New year's Eve at the National in D.C.

The only thing the road company DIDN'T have was a trap door - at least in the venue I saw it in. (probably due to the actual venue limitations)

The revolving stage picks right up and moves on to the next place - and the set looks just as good otherwise.

Lea - they didn't use a trap in the floor.

I hope they do for the revival.

Wow. Les Mis Revival.

B'way did.

I mean that the tour didn't use a trap. Not just the one venue where you saw it.

I saw it at NJPAC and West Point....neither used the trap door.

I am way overly excited about this! They did say that some of the previous cast members are being considered(playbill.com) and I'm predicting this will be Lea Salonga's return to Broadway. She already expressed that she wanted to play Fantine in the Les Miz revival. Although this isn't officially a revival, I think she might jump on. Other than her, although, I hope they get a new cast as well! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!! I'm soooo excited. All the more reason for me to go to college in NY!
