"This table, he is over one hundred years old. If I could, I would take an old gramophone needle and run it along the surface of the wood. To hear the music of the voices. All that was said." - Doug Wright, I Am My Own Wife
I REALLY wish I had time to go get this today--let alone read it! *curses the two tests and tons of homework that she has this week*

I had thought that it had been out for awhile...when I was at the mall on Saturday, I asked the girl at Waldens if they had it and she said that she had just pulled it out of a book but hadn't re-stocked the shelves yet. She went and got it for me without a problem.
There had only been one copy, though, so my friend Sam couldn't get one. We've solved the problem by reading it together a little bit each day...for now, anyway!
I hadn't realized that I had done an illegal sale, though...^^;;
Now I feel bad...I hope the store didn't get into any trouble!!
My friend who works in a store says they're pretty lax about letting books out unless it's something with a highly advertised release date like Harry Potter. Our store already had it on the shelves last weekend, so I've been done since Sunday and going nuts waiting for more people to finish!! :) What did you all think?
I am so impressed with the writing - it really pulls you in. It's fantastic.
Excellent book. I can't stop reading!! Thank you Anthony.

"They're singing, "Happy Birthday"
You just wanna lay down and cry
Not just another birthday, it's 30/90
Why can't you stay 29
Hell, you still feel like you're 22
Turn 30 in 1990
Bang! You're dead, what can you do?"

I preordered mine from amazon a couple weeks ago and it says I won't get it till Feb 22! It already shipped so I can't cancel it and buy it in the stores. Oh well, I guess I will have to be patient.
Glad I saw this thread. Lehman Engel's "Music With Words" just came out, and I was looking for a second book to order it off of buy.com so I can get free shipping. I'd forgotten this was coming out. Ordering now.
I went to my university's bookstore to buy it today, even though I read it a few months ago. I got the last of the three (surprisingly few for a big university in NYC) copies they ordered.
I was surprised to find that my B&N only received 4 copies. So sad to think that only 3 people other than myself were lucky to get their hands on a copy!
