Is there anyone who could write me a synopsis of the show Assiassins? I could only find one, and it wasn't very in depth. Thank you so much!

Would you like the original one or the newer Broadway revival. From what I know they're a bit different as far as songs go, but I am familiar with the original Assassins.

Well...I have the revival recording. Is there really that much of a difference?

I find this site really really fantastic for synopsises (synopsi?).

And then what if you are?
What a Prince would envision?
Although how can you know who you are till you know
What you want, which you don't?
So then which do you pick:
Where you're safe, out of sight, And yourself, but where everything's wrong?
Or where everything's right And you know that you'll never belong?

I actually don't even know. I'm assuming it's made up of historic facts and realities.

Assassins takes historical fact and bends it to make a great show.

As for the original vs the revival, the only difference is the addition of "Something Just Broke". In the original version, Oswald shoots Kennedy, then leaves the stage with the assass. Booth returns, burns Oswald's suicide note, then begins singing "Everybody's Got the Right". In the revival, Oswald shoots Kennedy, and then during the little playout after the shot, the Zapruder film is projected on Oswald's shirt. The ensemble then takes the stage, singing SJB. Finally, the Assassins return to sing the finale.

Actually, in the performance materials you get from MTI, Something Just Broke isn't included within the conductor's score, its in a separate book. That caused many a problem for my music director.

Truly an amazing show.

LOVE this show. I had tickets to the B'way revival but it closed and they refunded my money...gee, thanks a lot. I did it in college, and may be doing it again here in Chicago (callbacks this weekend...)
