"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
So, i'm confused. I thought the American Airlines Theater was new? like it was the newest theater built from the ground up on Broadway or something like that. Or at least one of the newer ones, but those pics look so old. I figured with the Marquee being so "modern" that the inside would match, but i guess not.
i guess the name is newer, but the theater is probably older... i dunno but i do know the pajama game is getting ready to start in like 20 minutes now!!!!! first preview, cant wait to hear about it!
I believe it was the Selwyn theatre before Roundabout gave American Airlines the rights. And the theatre now is one of my favorites, architecturally. I love the color scheme and they did an amazing restoration job.

oh okay. seems they totatlly overhauled the front of the theater with its really cool sleek looking Marquee. I like the fact that its a smaller theater.
The original entrance to the Selwyn/American Airlines was the building pictured above. During the rebuilding on 42nd Street in the 1990s, the Selwyn building "fell down" by itself in the middle of the night.
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.
