What are your favorite broadway songs to sing? I am looking for new songs to tackle for myself and my voice students. I'm getting tired of all the same songs. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I love to sing "what Your Own" from RENT and "Popular" from Wicked

I always try to sing "what is this feeling " and " thank goodness" from wicked

and "goodbye love" from RENT

Currently WICKED's "Defying Gravity" and "THe Wizard & I." I just edited the karaoke versions of these and can't wait to take them somewhere and sing them! Others that I love:

*"My New Philosophy" from ...CHARLIE BROWN
*"Meadowlark" from THE BAKER'S WIFE
*"Tell My Father" from THE CIVIL WAR (crying!)

I love singing anything from Jersey Boys especially "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You", "My Eyes Adored You", and "Fallen Angel".

Other songs:
"I Wanna Be A Producer", "The King Of Broadway", "We Can Do It", "Springtime For Hitler", and "Til Him"-The Producers

"He's Not Dead Yet", "The Song That Goes Like This", "Run Away", "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life", "Brave Sir Robin", "You Won't Succeed On Broadway", and "His Name Is Lancelot."-Monty Python's SpamAlot

Thanks for all the songs! Of course, all my students are addicted to WICKED but some of the others are new to me. Keep posting cause I love all the suggestions!

I love the musical Rags. It's got some great songs, mostly for women..."Children of the Wind" and "Blame it on the Summer Night" are lovely ballads.

Alot of them already posted I sing, but for the past couple of days I've been singing "Green green dress" from Tick...Tick...BOOM! It's not a hard song, but it's enjoyable. :)

I like to pretend I can sing the songs from Wicked...
One of my favorite songs to sing (especially in the car or getting ready in front of a mirror) is "Rose's Turn" from Gypsy.

I, too, love "New Music" from Ragtime. I wish I had some idea of what was going on onstage so I can visualize it...

As far as songs that randomly get stuck in my head for excessive periods of time (but I don't mind, because I like them)...

Giants in the Sky - Into the Woods. I ALWAYS seem to have this tune in my head.

The Actuary Song - I Love You Because. I heard the song off of the demo recording on the website, and it pretty much hasn't left my head since. It's a fun song.
