Posted: 1/3/06 at 12:09amIm sorry for you to see another Sweeney cd title, but I noticed it was taken off of the upcoming releases. I am concerned that it may have had its date pushed back. Anybody heard anything particular about it?

CD universe used to say that it was releasing on Jan 24. Now it says "release date undetermined." Guess there's a hold-up.

Posted: 1/3/06 at 12:15pmIf you scroll down and look at the album info, it does say January 31st, but still, not having the release date at the top and having the price reomoved is alarming. Nonsuch has never been known for releasing their discs on time. Bounce was delayed a couple of times, as well as several of their other theatre related recordings. A live Audra disc, which she recorded at the library of Congress singing songs Sondheim wishes that he wrote, was never released.

Posted: 1/4/06 at 12:10amThis is so upsetting! This was like my most anticipated release for so damn long and now the only thing to look forward to upcoming is Color Purple. No big complaints, but really there is such a big difference there.

Posted: 1/4/06 at 12:20amI cannot wait for the CD as well, But I have a funny feeling that - if we are lucky, They may be making a DVD to release and show on Public television as well, So lets all keep our fingers crossed, I think this will be the next big thing on the PBS "Great Performances" once it closes.

It will be a two disc recording, but still not "complete."
The tracklist is on nonesuch and in this thread, as well as more discussion.
Any news on the Sweeney CD?

Posted: 1/4/06 at 12:29amIf thats the track listing than my one gripe is cutting city on fire. That is my favorite song and without that, it leaves me slightly empty, but hey I must be happy that they may be doing a 2 disc and take what I get. As long as we get something, we should be happy

How "extravagant" could they be? Either a Jewell case with two discs and liner booklet, or a little cardboard box with two jewell cases and a libretto liner in each is all I'd expect them to do.
Now...if it was in a really cool coffin-like case and came with a replica razor...I'd understand the holdup.
