Pointless but fun weekend topic: Who would you rather be? And no, no third options (like suicide, fleeing the country)
Despite being a Wicked fan, I'd go with being a Renthead because well, so many of them are just damn cool and awesome! Besides, I'd rather live like "There's no Day but Today" than "Defy Gravity" with fifteen year old girls (just a generalization, not a fact) who do not even know what is the meaning of the gravity they are defying >.>
"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
Hands down a Renthead. Now, I HAPPEN to be a teenager. I love Wicked, BUT NOT BECAUSE I'M A TEENAGER!!! Sorry, I felt the need to stress that, just in case. Rent is my favorite musical because it's more personal, and the music is more raw. The message is more relevant in my opinion, and, as a New Yorker, I don't have to deal with as many teenybopper tourists when seeing RENT.
"We don't value the lily less for not being made of flint and built to last. Life's bounty is in it's flow, later is too late. Where is the song when it's been sung, the dance when it's been danced? It's only we humans who want to own the future too."
- Tom Stoppard, Shipwreck
Whatever I love Wicked, I love the novel, I love the story, I love the music.
I like Rent. I love the ideals, I like the music, I like the story.
While I try to live by the ideals of Rent, I relate more to Wicked.
No, not a teenager.
Oh the angst, oh dear god the angst.
Now that I think about it...one could even argue that Wicked vs. Rent is similar to psychology vs. sociology. And I'm a sucker for picking apart the human mind.
--Like an odd exotic creature on display inside a zoo, hearing children asking questions makes me ask some questions too...--
I'm actually worried about the movie ss the show. Today, literally 10 seventh graders were running through the halls singing "What You Own". I was like, you have got to be kidding me. No way. My eeeaaadddrrrruuuummmmmssssss. To quote the movie :) - This cannot be happening.

Omg Becky that movie was good, we should so see the show. Oh I know right....
:see the show:
Ew, why was the set like that? Ew, why was it all weird? "
That just made my life.

I'm more of a WICKED fan than I am RENT. I love both shows and I didn't have the chance to see Idina's ass, so I'd like to be a RENTHEAD so I could have seen the obc 899633147852396 times and memorized the dot pattern on her ass!
