her voice gave me a bad headache. Her acting was very very weak. I tried to like her. I considered leavng at intermission, but I said I would give her one more chance. Her worst song by far was "No Good Deed."

I've seen and heard alot of ElphabaS, eden was EASILY the worst.

(she did look very attractive in green though...I will give her that)

Personally, when I saw Eden in a video, I thought she was stunning.

I saw Eden last Saturday in SF and she blew me away. She was phenominal in every aspect (singing, acting, looked good in green, was sweet at the stage door, etc.). I'm going back again mainly because she was so good.

What night did you see her?

Awww...that's too bad. I really love Eden too. Maybe she just had an off-night. It happens.

I'm sorry you had such an unenjoyable time at the show. Personally, I've only heard some live clips of Eden and I really liked those but as I've never seen her as Elphaba, can't really comment on her acting abilities. But that's surprising, I thought she had a very impressive voice. But then maybe she's just not everyone's cup of tea. Or as stated earlier, perhaps you happened to catch her during an off-night?

Some people dont like her voice, i love it. its a big role with huge shoes to fill and expectations because now most of the audience has already seen it.

That's very strange, because it looks like everyone including the critics loved Eden in it. I think she's AMAZING, and the best Elphaba.. my mini-review..

"WOW! I went to see WICKED yesterday, and Eden was just unbelievable! I heard some clips of her performance in WICKED before, but what I witnessed at the Orpheum Theatre was something that I can't describe. She was just amazing! She made every song in WICKED her own, and she was great at it! She can do anything! :]

The show as a whole was better then the Broadway production. Everyone in the cast was spot-on and did a great job. KENDRA KASSEBAUM (Glinda) was very funny, and had an amazing comic timing. She and Eden did a really great job together! The cast was all terrific (CAROL KANE, DAVID GARRISON, TIMOTHY BRITTEN PARKER). They really made the show more fun then the Broadway production. It was amazing!

And Back to Eden!!
Eden's singing was perfect. She was on pitch the entire show and hit every note clearly and perfectly. Her Defying Gravity was AMAZING. Her acting was just as good as her singing- unbelievable. When she sang "I'll be so happy, I could melt!" I rememberd Ines Wink I don't want everyone to feel bad about not seeing her.. But she was A-M-A-Z-I-NG and i'm sure she will get great reviews from the SF critics! You all will get a chance to see her in Wicked *hinthint*. The theatre was PACKED. And it was MUCH bigger then the Gershwin. Eden got a FULL standing ovation at the end from EVERYONE, no one stayed seated. "

I'm sorry say what you must about BKLYN but first of all, it wasn't THAT awful (Good Vibrations was 100 times worse and its not even nearly criticized as much as BKLYN is on here) and second of all, Eden was great in it and I cannot wait to see her in Wicked on Bway soon hopefully...

Sad you didn't like her. I've only heard bootlegs of her and I really liked her. Sure sometimes she has some wild high notes that don't really work and instead make her a watered down version of Shoshana, but I love her anyway.

AND, with all due respect,I'd also like to say that she doesnt deserve the name "Espinawful"...EVERYONE has an off night now and then...no one can turn in a stellar performance night after night after night...It's nearly impossible.

I have clips of Idina delivering an awful and I mean AWFUL Defying Gravity one night...instead of "bring meeeeeeee down" it was more like "bring me *cough* down* and her second bring me down was off pitch and forced and her ahhh at the end sounded absolutley hurrendous...but I dont give her nicknames or anything and I forgive her for it...shes amazingly talented and I give her as many more chances as I can stand...shes usually stellar but not at that performance but I just let it go and move on...it's a TERRIBLY demanding role...you try belting out those songs 8 times a week...it's not easy.

I am considering paying brokers fees to see Eden this weekend in San Francisco AND driving up from Los Angeles in the process.

I'll take the majority who says she is fabulous rather than the one who said she is "Espinawful", though I will give him points for the clever title.

I didnt need to give a detailed review. I said all I needed to say.

I also dont read reviews that come from biased sources. CLEARLY you know this girl. I thought she was horrible the first time I heard her...(singing Defying Gravity on Seth's Chatterbox) and she only got worse. Honestly.

Im sure shes lovely, but she is lacking the talent needed to be playing leads on broadway/tours. Im sorry, she belongs back at Disney.

Yup it was...I felt so bad for her...she started off not-so-bad, I thought but once she got into the air, she was a gonner. I think she left during intermission and Eden took over for Act II. What a trooper, though. I find it funny but in a way, nice towards Idina (a kind of "great job for making it through that damned song alive" thing out of respect) that the audience still went wild when the song ended.
