Taboo- Wires? Lighting? With all the special effects they've come up with, I wouldn't think it would be too hard...

haha yes! Disney's Mulan! and Moulin Rouge. Although Moulin is a musical it would be cool to see on Broadway...

Kristin Chenoweth could barely control a Great Dane she trotted onto the stage. "Great, they gave me a dog that weighs five times what I do", she quipped. For the record, she weighs 93 pounds, and has a Maltese.

two words-- NAPOLEON DYNAMITE. it's about time for a purposely pointless musical.

I agree totally with "Father of the Bride" (especially this one), "Mean Girls", and "Hercules"!

I'm sorry, but the tought of singing Batman just made me laugh out loud. While I agree that it could be staged in a very interesting, Gothic manner... it just would be ridiculous in my opinion.

The other day I was thinking about "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", "Sleepless in Seattle", "When Harry Met Sally...", or maybe What "omen Want" as musicals.

It's actually more of miniseries than a movie, and it was a bad one at that. Still, I'd like to see Anne Rice's The Feast of All Saints turned into a musical.

But I'd make Anna Bella Monroe the lead character instead of Marcel Ste. Marie. Anna Bella was generally more likable and because her character was more of an outsider to the gens de coleur libre community, she makes a good surrogate character for the audience.

And Stokes would be perfect as one the proud pillars of the community, Rudolphe Lermontant.

HairsprayDoll -- a friend and I had done that once also for the Princess Bride. I don't remember all the ones we came up (there must have been about 30 titles) but some of the ones I do remember:

As You Wish (it's a natural)
Inconceivable!
Lefty/Righty (sword fight with Inigo)
When Death's On the Line (Vizzini)
Welcome to the Pit (for the Albino)
Where, oh Where is Westley? (For Buttercup)
I Take Large Steps (for Fezzik, to borrow from another show)
It'd Take a Miracle
What Bwings Us Togethah (at the wedding...)
Perfect (for Westley and Buttercup's reunion at the end)

That's all I remember...

I do have to say that I would rush to see The Princess Bride and Moulin Rouge if they were ever on Broadway.

Tootsie: The Musical... You are amazing! I would love it...

How about a GOOD Clue musical? I know there's already one out there, but reading it only made me suggest a rewrite...

And (this is a little off topic) but, who else thinks that Margaret Cho should play Christmas Eve in Ave q?

I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.

I wonder how many times this has been a topic of discussion since the boards first started?
Not that I mind. I hope the right people read it and perhaps become intrigued by the suggestions.

My choices:
Robin Hood: Men In Tights
A Star Is Born
In the Good Old summertime
Yentl

Isn't In the Good Old Summertime (or a version of it) already a musical. I could have sworn I saw someone say they saw Shop Around the Corner which is a version of Good Old minus the music... or maybe it had different music than In the Good Old Summertime?

And whatyouown223- I would love to see Finding Neverland- I love that movie so much!

I just ended a production of Mulan Jr. World Premiere at Northshore Music Theatre last week. I too was waiting for them to do Mulan. Its just a Jr version (1-hour) with the songs from the movie plus some new ones, actually 2 main new ones with some reprises and what-not.
