Does anyone know where I can either find the music or script to the musical "A Christmas Carol" (the new version...the one based off the one that Kelsey Grammar was in) I've googled it to no avail.
both the sheet music and the original Madison Square Garden cast recording are out of print. the CD can be purchased used on Amazon.com and I did a yahoo search and found the sheet music for you... from what I understand though, the Kelsey Grammar CD is pretty accurate to the changes that were made through out each consecutive mounting in New York and the version of the script licensed from MTI (even though MTI lists it as being the original version of the script) I've been led to believe that this is not the case. if the script is on-line somewhere it shouldn't be, but it probably is... and if it is that would be illegal so I suggest, if you would like to read the script, that you contact MTI...
MTI does have the rights, and although they say it's the "original version", it is not. I had a perusal a few months ago, and it was the script that they used in the most recent MSG production. If you saw the show in it's final years, the show was much different from the orginal.
Am I the only one who hated this? I saw it at MSG and thought it was horrible. Great costume thought thanks to Bobby Long. Then when the TV version came out last year I thought it was still really bad.

I personally HATED the TV version... it was ruined. As for the stage version, I saw it 2 years in a row at Madison Square Garden, and thought it was fabulous! They should have taped a live stage performance for TV, rather than make a corny, has-been filled, crap movie. Updated On: 7/6/05 at 06:02 PM
I saw it twice too, I liked it when Tim Curry was Scrooge but then his replacement was just not good. He was so annoying. I dont remember his name but he wasnt great. Tim Curry holds a special place in my heart cause he gave us the tixs on the Rosie O' Donnell Show to the whole audience.
I saw it with both Tim Curry and Jim Dale... and I honestly can't say who was a better Scrooge.... they both added their own personality to him... they were both awesome!
I love this show, most of my friends make fun of me for it. i love the music, most people lsiten to ave amria at xmas i lsiten to this. i saw it almost every year and the last yr it played.
