A coming of age love story set in New York City. J.T., a singer/songwriter, age 22-26, falls in love with a young woman, age 22-26, who works at the Village Voice. Music and lyrics written by Oscar award winning songwriter (You Light Up My Life) Joe Brooks. The show has been produced twice as an AEA Workshop.
Seeking Equity performers for the following roles and for understudies in the Broadway production:
Jenny: Female, age 22 - 26, pop soprano/mix. Must be able to sing a high E and F comfortably and also be able to sing both sensitive ballads and heavy rock songs. Comedic timing, with an edge. Can be of Latin descent.
Winston: Male, age 25 - 35, tenor. Must be able to dance and play a transvestite. Comic skills a plus. Type: Young Nathan Lane.
Nick: Male, age 22 - 30, contemporary theatre tenor. Rough, like a drummer in a rock band. Must be able to hit high A comfortably. Excellent actor.
Al: Male, age 40 - 50. The "God" character of the show. A character and an "everyman". Legitimate tenor opera singer. He also has to sing a few jingles a la Al Jolson.
Liz: Female, age 25 - 35, legit soprano. Trained singer, must be able to hit high B. Excellent actor.
Vera: Female, age 13 - 14, African American or Latina, with a wide vocal range. Must be able to sing and act well and able to do rap music.
Samantha / Angie / Doctor: 25 - 35; mix-belt/soprano. Samantha is the 'goth' friend of Jenny's. Comic skills a plus. Angie and the Doctor are bit roles. Job Start Date
