The following noncompetitive awards will be presented by the Drama Desk at its awards ceremony:
Outstanding Ensemble Performances: The cast of Glengarry Glen Ross The cast of The 25 th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
No nomination for Sarah Ramierz for F. ACTRESS, but one for Maureen McGovern - YAY! YAY! YAY!
Also, No James Earl Jones in lead actor, but a deserved nod to Adam Arkin.
No Pacific Overatures nod for best Revival of a Musical.
Still quite the slight to the SPELLING BEE cast, but the Ensemble Award will make up for that.
Also Laura Linney seems to be sneaking into the LEAD ACTRESS in a PLAY category with no Phylicia Rashad or Leslie Uggums nod. Updated On: 4/28/05 at 10:37 AM
Upon a cursory glance, no Tim Curry but nods for Azaria and Pierce. Interesting.
BTW - Laura Linney is doing pretty well w/ the nods! With the falters of Menagerie and Streetcar, I was hoping Mary-Louise Parker could sneak in there, but what can you do (shill shill shill, I know).
"Some of us have it worse, you know, Dana. Some of us are dating lesbian men. Okay? C'mon."
lil shocked no nom for tim curry, i though david hyde pierce would be snubbed

Well, so much for the two AltarBoyz nay sayers. Seven nominations, including Maynard. Not bad. I'm now feeling confident that I'll get to see this show after all. Suprising snubs for Jackson and Ramirez.
Depends. Two of the six Lead actor nominations are from Off-Broadway and thus ineligible for the Tonys and I'm guessing Morrison will be Featured, so Lithgow very well could slip in.

I agree with Margo, take away all of the off Broadway names when thinking of possible Tony nods. Lithgow still has a chance. All the hype for Ramirez did possibly backlash, but the race is not quite over now, is it.
definitley suprised about curry...and ramirez! are they serious?? i'm happy for christina applegate! that girl has worked SO hard to get that show to ny, and just for that alone i have to give it up for her.
however, i'm THRILLED to see McGovern nominated as well as, of course, sutton foster, my favorite thing ever.
Ramirez will likely get the Tony, although I think there are others who deserve it more. Or perhaps, it will be a Christmas Eve fiasco again, and she will get a Tony stub too.
