I know this has been released in the UK, but does anyone know if it will play on American DVD players? I want to see this so bad, but I don't want to buy it from London if I can't watch it. Just hoping someone out there has bought it and watched it here in the states!

It's coded for Region 2 so it won't play on your DVD player unless you've gotten one that's "cracked" to play DVDs from any region.

I've got DVD software on my laptop/desktops (there's tons if you check Google) that also ignores what region it is so I watched it on there myself.

If the description of the DVD says that it is Region 2, then it will NOT play in American dvd players, unless you happen to have one that is "region free." If there is no such notation in the description, you should check with the seller to be sure. But U.K. dvds are usually Region 2.

Thanks so much! I just remembered that I bought the Making of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on DVD from Amazon UK and it plays on my Apex DVD player just fine and it is coded Region 2 so I went ahead and bought Taboo. I also have a computer that plays DVDs so I think I should be ok. Thanks for the advice though!

I did purchase and watch this DVD here in the States. But, I have a player that is modified to play Region 2. If you don't, you can't.

It's very interesting to see and almost completely different than the Broadway production. Almost like a different show, except for the songs.

What did you like and dislike about both shows?

I didn't prefer anything in the London production over Broadway. I think all changes were improvements, including the cast, the set, and most of all, the book. Charles Busch did a great job writing an almost entirely new book around these songs and the remaining characters.
