In the 1970s, Penny Singleton appeared on Broadway. She filled in for the vacationing Ruby Keeler as the star of the glorious Broadway revival of No, No, Nannette.

I have to say, I loved her. Last winter, I was trapped on a cruise I didn't want to be on, and there was a "nostalgia channel" on the on-ship television. Every day there was a new pair of Blondie movies. And I am telling you, the humor STILL holds up. She was so damn funny. 95, what a run!
